Mid-West Corvettes, Inc.

President Darrell Amato called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
32 members were present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. A moment of silence was observed for Fallen, Past and Current Military Personnel and First Responders.
Secretary’s Report: The minutes will only be posted to the website. A motion to accept the February minutes as submitted was made by John Severs and seconded by Robbie Bentley. Motion carried.
Treasurers’ Report: Shirley Schneider was absent, so Darrell passed a current Club’s balance sheet around the room. Credits were Interest. Debits were Secretary of State(agent change fee), Team 218 Web Design, Darrell Amato(Banquet expenses), Greg and Jennifer Crouch(Social event payment), DeBord Catering(Banquet), Denny Waddell(Banquet supplies), Sharon Morrissey(Cards and Isabel Bloom). Charity: Credits were 50/50 and No Name Tags/Birthdays/Anniversaries. Debits were none. A motion to pay Diner Books made by Bill Ingersoll and seconded by Bill Morrissey Sr. Motion carried. A motion to accept Treasurers’ report was made by Roger Miller and seconded by Butch Thomsen. Motion carried. Discussed reimbursements, decided if turning in receipts at end of meeting you will get a check in the mail or one at the next monthly meeting.
Governor’s Report: Al Fiscus reported that NCCC applications have been turned in. Mike and Deb Alvarado are going to the Regional party. Discussed sending NCCC an emblem of the Club with a couple paragraphs about MWC and a photo of Club for our 60th Anniversary.
Membership: Gale Brown reported we have 100 members with 14 being Lifetime. If you have any changes let Gale Brown know. He also has information on Corvette Adventures if you are interested. NCCC cards are out, if you haven’t gotten yours talk to Gale. New Corvettes: Mike and Deb Alvarado now have a 2014 Red Stingray Coupe!
Social: Jean Amato heads up Social this year. Check the website calendar! March 8 Tin Can Dinner Los Agaves(16th St and John Deeere Rd.) Moline IL. 5:30pm. March 18th Coffee/Breakfast Quad City Pancake House Rock Island. 9am. April 1 Coffee/Breakfast Village Inn 2122 53rd St. Moline, IL 9am. April 19 Spring Rally Ericksen’s Milan, IL. 8am. April 26 Tin Can Dinner Caddy’s Sports Bar and Grill 3700 Belmont Rd. Bettendorf, IA. 5:30pm.
Speed: Butch Thomsen heads up Speed this year. April 19, 2020 is Spring Rallye. Begins at Eriksens’ with registration beginning at 8am, driver meeting 9:45am. and ends at River House. 3 events – poker, milage and trivia. $25 pre register, $35 day of. Butch is looking for volunteers to help out. Low Speed Auto Cross is August 16th. New tab on main page of website, competition events. Take a look, see if it makes sense.
Communications: Denny was absent. If you are not getting regular emails contact Denny Waddell.
Charity: Sherri Brown noted Winners of 50/50 were Rick Sherman and Al Fiscus (who donated his back to charity). 2 MWC tumblers given away, winning ticket holders Gale Brown and Mark Stewart.
Webmaster: Please use the website. If you have any questions contact Chuck Hersey. You should all be getting emails on a regular basis.
Car Show: Roger Miller will be doing this for the year. Links on website! If you know of any local car shows, let Roger know.
Publicity: Jean Amato. No report.
Parade: The general feeling of the membership was that we do not need a chairperson for this position. No one knew of any upcoming parades.
Quartermaster: Kathy Ragona. No orders will be taken at the meetings as it is all online on the website now. If you have any problems contact Kathy and she will help you through it. Clothing tab is now on main page of website, no password needed to access.
Historian: Waldo Arnholz. If you have photos from the last 10 years of Club events Waldo would appreciate it if you could share them as he is working on compiling photos for the 60th Anniversary party. He can give you a thumb drive to put them on for him.
Sunshine: Sharon Morrissey heads up Sunshine and asks that you contact her with any information. March Birthdays and Anniversaries were noted.
Old Business: Award presented to Bill and Michelle Ingersoll – Club participation. The change has been made to reflect Club Dues date to September in the Constitution.
New Business: VOTR will be August 29th, with online registration opening in April. If you would like to volunteer contact Sherry Cassatt. Darrell had some folders he and Jean put together with some drive outs listed for members to take. That way if there is an open drive out, you have some options to
choose from, also includes a waiver. Noted that the August 29th drive out will be changed to August 30th so as not to interfere with VOTR. Tom Pospicil has bought a 2020 Corvette and might be persuaded to let the Club members view it once it comes in. Asked members to help clean up the meeting room and all were invited to City Limits. Motion to adjourn made by Mike Alvarado and seconded by Steve Kean. Meeting adjourned at 7:40 pm.
