President Darrell Amato called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm

30 members and 1 guest were present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. A moment of silence was observed for all Veterans, Fallen, Past and Current Military Personnel and First Responders. Darrell spoke briefly about Al Fiscus and his surgery, it was a tough procedure, please keep Al in your thoughts and prayers.

Secretary’s Report: The minutes will only be posted to the website. Corrections to the Treasurer report in March are: the months of Dec., Jan., Feb., copies of report were displayed for members to see not passed around, no interest has been paid on the accounts since November and follow up will be occurring, Secretary of State change agent filing fee and 50/50-Birthdays/Anniversaries/No name tags was collected for the first time at the March meeting. Motion to accept the March Minutes as submitted, with the above changes showing here in the April monthly minutes, made by John Severs and seconded by Mike Alvarado. Motion carried.

Treasurers’ Report: Sherri Brown displayed a current Club’s balance sheet for members to see. Credits were: New Membership Dues, Rallye Registrations and Service Charge Refund. Debits were: Secretary of State IL. Change Agent Fee and Service Charge. Charity: Credits were: 50/50, Birthdays/Anniversaries, No Name Tag and Donna Jochim’s Covid Project Notebooks. Debits were: Jean Amato-Christmas Dinner reimbursement for Rosie and Denny Meyer and Service Fee. The bank has restructured accounts and those with less than a specified amount will incur a service fee. This affects the Club Accounts and options are being explored. Motion to accept Treasurer Report made by Ross Scott and seconded by Carol Mathias. Motion carried.

Governor’s Report: Al Fiscus was absent. Darrell spoke about the Low Speed August 15th and needing to pay the retainer for the site at Iowa National Guard, Mount Joy. Motion made by Shirley Schneider and seconded by Don VanDeWoestyne. Motion carried. Insurance coverage has been obtained for the Event.

Membership: Gale Brown reported that we have 111 members. Andy Seynaeve with a “96 LT1 Triple Black Coupe, Jeff Olsen with a “02 Magnetic Red Coupe and Carl Burney. Guest tonight was Gary Diercks who is the owner of 5 ½ Corvettes and is a past member of the Club. No new, but Tom Markese has a new license plate bracket for his car! If you have a lost or damaged, need a name change on your Club Name Tag let Gale know and he will get you a new one. If you have changes (car, plates, etc.) let Gale know so he can get the information corrected.

Social: Jean Amato was absent. Check the website calendar! Sunday April 18th is the Spring Rally. May 5th Drive Out. Meet at SE parking lot South Park Mall near Denny’s Restaurant at 9:30 am. Driver meeting at 9:45, leave at 10 am. May 16th Drive Out. Meet at former Ascentra Credit Union 949 Mississippi Court in LeClaire at 9:30 am. Driver meeting at 9:45, leave at 10 am. We welcome and encourage all members to take an active role to plan and lead at least 1 drive out this year. Thank You!

Speed: Spring Rallye April 18th, 8 am registration begins, 3 events, Trivia, poker and mileage, the drive will be about an hour. Each car must have a driver and a navigator, first car out at 10 am. Leaving from Eriksens. Butch Thomsen welcomes your feedback after the event

Communications: Rick Sherman heads communications.

Charity: Donna Jochim leads Charity. 50/50 winners were Rita Painter and John Severs(who both donated back the monies).

Webmaster: Please use the website. If you have any questions contact Chuck Hersey. You should all be getting emails on a regular basis.

Car Show: Roger Miller was absent. Bishop Hill has a show July 25th. Links on website! If you know of any local car shows, let Roger know.

Publicity: Jean Amato was absent. Articles will be sent to newspapers on the 60th Anniversary party.

Parade: The general feeling of the membership was that we do not need a chairperson for this position. No one knew of any upcoming parades.

Quartermaster: Kathy Nelson had nothing new. No orders will be taken at the meetings as it is all online on the website now. If you have any problems contact Kathy and she will help you through it. Clothing tab is now on main page of website, no password needed to access.

Historian: Waldo Arnholz. If you have photos from the last 10 years of Club events Waldo would appreciate it if you could share them as he is working on compiling photos for the 60th Anniversary party. He can give you a thumb drive to put them on for him.

Sunshine: Linda Thomsen heads up Sunshine. 6 cards were sent out to members. April Birthdays and Anniversaries were noted. If you have knowledge of Club members, such as get-wells, deaths, births, etc. please contact Linda with the information.

Old Business: Discussion of the 60th Anniversary party. Article being written for Blue Bars and Newspapers.

New Business: Board of Directors will meet in early May. Members think about planning/Leading a Drive Out this season. 60th Anniversary, may be challenging to find past members – if you have info on some please pass along to Darrell. Since we had no Awards Banquet 2020 only Rookie of the Year was noted with that award going to Shirley Schneider. Members should do some thinking about an Awards Banquet 2021(What, Where and When). Are members ready to start going back to City Limits after meetings? Going to plan on that after May meeting and see how it goes, if City Limits is reluctant we could try another place. Asked members to help clean up the meeting room. Motion to adjourn made by Ross Scott and seconded by Butch Thomsen. Meeting adjourned at 8:05 pm.
