President Darrell Amato called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
40 members and 1 guest were present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. A moment of silence was observed for all Veterans, Fallen, Past and Current Military Personnel and First Responders.

Secretary’s Report: The minutes will only be posted to the website. Motion to accept the July Minutes as submitted was made by Robbie Bentley and seconded by Randy Carlz. Motion carried.

Treasurers’ Report: Sherri Brown passed around a current Club’s balance sheet for members to see. Credits were: Anniversary T-shirt Sales, Membership Renewal Fees, Anniversary Dinner, Low Speed Registration and Interest. Debits were: Jim Scranton (July 4th Parade Fee), Gale Brown (Anniversary postcard postage) and ATM Fee(which will be reversed). Charity: Credits were: 50/50, No Name Tags, Birthdays and Anniversaries. Kathy’s Face Masks. Debits were: Julie Morse (house fire). Motion to accept Treasurer Report made by Carol Mathias and seconded by Roger Miller. Motion carried.

Governor’s Report: Al Fiscus talked about the 3 degree day money for VOTR. Asking any members to bring their Corvette to Eriksens’ Thursday August 12th by 3 PM to use for backdrop in awarding the money, if you are available. August 15th is the Autocross, volunteer sheet passed. If you are volunteering you should bring a camp chair, two way radio, hat, maybe an umbrella and water. If entering you need to bring your own helmet less than 10 years old and Snell approved rating. There is a Guest category for those not wishing to drive a Corvette.

Membership: Gale Brown reported that we have 112 members. Visitor was Del Straub who owns a 1978 Corvette and a 2010 Grand Sport Coupe. Reminder that renewal fees are due by the September Business Meeting. If you have a lost or damaged, need a name change on your Club Name Tag let Gale know and he will get you a new one. If you have changes (car, plates, address, phone, etc.) let Gale know so he can get the information corrected. Updated list is on the website.

Aug.25 Coffee/Breakfast QC Coffee and Pancake House 1831 3rd Ave. Rock Island IL. 9 am. Aug. 28 Vettes on the River in LeClaire IA. 8 am. Aug. 29 Open Drive meets at SE corner parking lot of South Park Mall (near Denny’s) 9:30 am, driver meeting 9:45 am, depart 10 am. Sept. 12 Open Drive meets SE corner parking lot of South Park Mall (near Denny’s) 9:30 am, driver meeting 9:45 am, depart 10 am. Sept. 15 Coffee/Breakfast Windmill Family Restaurant 1190 Avenue of the Cities East Moline IL. 9 am. Sept. 26 MWCC 60th Anniversary Celebration at Camden Center 2701 1st Street East Milan IL. starting at Noon. We welcome and encourage all members to take an active role to plan and lead at least 1 drive out this year. Thank You’s to Al and Denny, Mike and Deb for leading the Drive Outs last month.

Speed: Butch Thomsen was absent. Don VanDeWoestyne passed a volunteer sheet for Autocross sign up.

Communications: Rick Sherman heads communications. Brought up meeting at Ascentra before VOTR and all driving in together. Had Michelle Ingersoll discuss the Fall Color Run in Wisconsin Oct. 8,9 and 10. So far it looks like 8-9 cars are going. Meet in Eldridge the 8th leaving by 10 am (time subject to change) Log in to Suburban Corvette Club of Minnesota for information and registration forms and hotels. Michelle can answer questions you may have. Sept. Monthly Meeting will have pies made by Club Member Jeff Olsen, Donna Jochim will supply plates and forks, the Club will supply Ice Cream.

Charity: Donna Jochim was absent so Melissa Thorngren did the honors. 50/50 winners were Bill Morrissey Sr. and Sue Severs(donated back). Julie Morse sent a Thank You to the Club for the generous donation to help with costs after their house fire. It was decided that it’s too late in the year and too much is still happening to try to host a Show and Shine with Bake Sale, so will revisit that possibility in the Spring. Thinking of an off season Chili/Dessert Cook Off maybe in Feb. or March to raise Charity funds. Rita Painter donated money to the Charity Fund. Thank You Rita!

Webmaster: Please use the website. If you have any questions contact Chuck Hersey. You should all be getting emails on a regular basis. 60th Anniversary postcard and flier posted to website, fill out the flier for reservations. Is there a difference in decades and years? Ask Chuck, he’ll answer you(wink)!

Car Show: Roger Miller had several shows to mention, Clear Lake, Street Outlaws, Evansville, Cars and Coffee LeClaire, Amboy Depot Days, Hot Rod Power Tour, Ron’s Toy Box will hold a show in October, just to name a few. Links on website! If you know of any local car shows, let Roger know.

Publicity: Jean Amato. 2 weeks prior to 60th Anniversary an announcement in the community section of the Argus and QC Times will run. Blue Bars is behind and our photo and article (written by Denny Waddell’s daughter) will appear in 2022 with either a front or back cover.

Parade: Jim Scranton heads parades. LeClaire Tug Fest is Aug. 13th, parade starts at 6 pm. Let Jim know if you’re interested and make arrangements.

Quartermaster: Kathy Nelson was absent. If you were not at the meetings and want a shirt for the 60th Anniversary, you can place your order online on the website under the apparel button. These shirts are to be worn by us at the 60th Anniversary Celebration. No orders will be taken at the meetings as it is all online on the website now. If you have any problems contact Kathy and she will help you through it. Clothing tab is now on the main page of the website, no password needed to access.

Historian: Waldo Arnholz. If you have photos from the last 10 years of Club events Waldo would appreciate it if you could share them as he is working on compiling photos for the 60th Anniversary party. He can give you a thumb drive to put them on for him.

Sunshine: Linda Thomsen was absent. 2 cards were sent out to members. August Birthdays and Anniversaries were noted. If you have knowledge of Club members, such as get-wells, deaths, births, etc. please contact Linda with the information.

Old Business: The 60th Anniversary Committee is making great progress. Get your reservations in! September 26th 2021. The Camden Center, 2701 First Street East, Milan Illinois. Cost is $25.00 per person. The time is set from 2pm. to 8pm.(Volunteers at Noon). Cocktails are at 4 pm. Dinner provided by DeBords with a cash bar at 5 pm. VOTR Aug. 28 asking for Volunteers (parking help mostly).

New Business: Reservation form for the 60th Anniversary is on the website. The shirts can be ordered online. Parking will be by generation. October is nomination month for Board of Director positions, you can look at the membership list on the website as a guideline for who you may want to nominate. A motion to hold the End of year Awards Dinner at Eriksens’ on a Sunday afternoon/evening sometime in December was made by Bryan Glossip and seconded by Mike Alvarado. Motion carried. Asked members to help clean up the meeting room and enjoy City Limits again. Motion to adjourn made by Jim Scranton and seconded by Randy Carlz. Meeting adjourned at 7:59 pm.
