President Darrell Amato called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

52 members and 4 guests were present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. A moment of silence was observed for all Veterans, Fallen, Past and Current Military Personnel and First Responders.

The membership voted on a motion by Al Fiscus to retain Darrell as President and Jean as Social Director thru September (Darrell and Jean having said they would if the membership approved). Seconded by John Severs. Motion carried.

Secretary’s Report: The minutes will only be posted to the website. Motion to accept the June Minutes as submitted was made by Bill Ingersoll and seconded by Carol Mathias. Motion carried.

Treasurers’ Report: Sherri Brown passed around a current Club’s balance sheet for members to see. Credits TBK were: none. Debits TBK were: Closing withdrawal. IHMVCU credits were: Anniversary T-shirt Sales, New Membership Fees, Additional T-shirt sales and Car Flag and transfer from TBK account, No Interest for this month. Debits were: BeardsleyPrinting-Anniversary postcards and Beardsley Printing-Club Business Cards. Charity: Credits TBK were: Account Closed. Debits TBK were: none. IHMVCU credits were: 50/50, No Name Tags, Birthdays and Anniversaries. Kathy’s Face Masks. IHMVCU debits were: none. IHMVCU Main Account and Charity Account Savings Accounts were opened. Motion to accept Treasurer Report made by Mike Alvarado and seconded by John Severs. Motion carried.

Governor’s Report: Al Fiscus talked about the Low Speed Event, to be held on August 15th. Vintage Cars at ElkHart Lake. An email will be sent out for anyone wishing to help with VOTR August 28th as the City of LeClaire and Sherry Zarubas are asking the Club for help.

Membership: Gale Brown reported that we have 112 members. Visitors were Chuck and his son Ethan who owns a ‘96 white convertible, Del Straub who owns a 1978 Corvette and a 2010 Grand Sport Coupe and Rick Lemke’s mother. New car: Dan and Melissa Thorngren who have ordered a 2022 convertible. Darrell and Jean Amato traded in their 2017 for a Matchbox Corvette. If you have a lost or damaged, need a name change on your Club Name Tag let Gale know and he will get you a new one. If you have changes (car, plates, address, phone, etc.) let Gale know so he can get the information corrected. Updated list is on the website.

Social: Jean Amato was absent. Check the website calendar! July 10 Open Drive Out, meet SE parking lot Southpark Mall Moline IL. 9:30 am, driver meeting 9:45 am, leave 10 am. July 14 dinner at Luli’s 1213 10th Ave. W Milan IL. 6pm. July 25 Open Drive Out, meet former Ascentra LeClaire IA. 9:30 am, driver meeting 9:45 am, leave 10 am. July 28 Coffee/Breakfast Iowa Machine Shed Davenport IA. 9 am. August 8 Open Drive Out meet at Hardee’s Eldridge IA. 9:30 am, driver meeting 9:45 am, leave 10 am. August 15 Autocross at Davenport Air National Guard Davenport IA starts at 7 am. August 29 Open Drive Out meet SE parking lot Southpark Mall Moline IL. 9:30 am, driver meeting 9:45 am, leave 10 am. Jeff Olsen brought an apple pie in to auction off for Charity, bidding was entertaining and Sherri Brown bought it. We welcome and encourage all members to take an active role to plan and lead at least 1 drive out this year. Thank You’s to Al and Denny for leading to Dixon, Randy for leading to Iowa City.

Speed: Butch Thomsen talked about the Low Speed event on August 15th. Set up will be on the 14th around 3 pm. Volunteers will need to be there on the day of the event around 6 am. Dale Samuelson will do the scoring again for us. Will get a flier to Michelle to post on the Facebook page and will need pop ups. Butch modeled his red t-shirt he orderd from the Club website.

Communications: Rick Sherman heads communications. Michelle Ingersoll brought up the Fall Color Run in Wisconsin held by the Minnesota Corvette Club. It will be October 8,9 and 10. An email will be sent out regarding this event. If you have ideas let’s hear them!

Charity: Donna Jochim leads Charity. 50/50 winners were Deanna Glossop and Rita Painter(who donated the money back to Charity). Rita brought up ideas of doing a Show and Shine at Eriksens’ with a bake sale and a basket auction. 6 persons are going to form a committee to further this idea. Request for Linda Thomsen’s sister whose house burnt down, motion by Robbie Bentley and seconded by Bill Ingersoll. Motion carried. A pass the hat was done and monies collected to give to Linda’s sister as well. Dave Mueller sent a license plate bracket and mild to wild C6 switch to auction for Charity. It was decided to list the items on Craig’s List and Marketplace with money going into Charity from the sale.

Webmaster: Please use the website. If you have any questions contact Chuck Hersey. You should all be getting emails on a regular basis. 60th Anniversary postcard and flier posted to website, fill out the flier for reservations.

Car Show: Roger Miller had several shows to talk about. Scoop the Loop, Outlaws at Cordova, LeClaire Cars & Coffee, Durant, Bishop Hill and Clear Lake to mention a few. Links on website! If you know of any local car shows, let Roger know.

Publicity: Jean Amato. Articles will be sent to 2 newspapers about the 60th Anniversary party, postcard and flier have been added to the website and Denny Waddell’s daughter is writing an article for Blue Bars. Suggested to put information out on internet sites.

Parade: Jim Scranton is heading parades, said the 4th of July parade went well. If you know of one coming up let Jim know.

Quartermaster: Kathy Nelson. Last order at meetings for 60th Anniversary shirts were taken. If you were not at the meeting and want a shirt you can place your order online on the website under the apparel button. No orders will be taken at the meetings as it is all online on the website now. If you have any problems contact Kathy and she will help you through it. Clothing tab is now on the main page of the website, no password needed to access.

Historian: Waldo Arnholz. If you have photos from the last 10 years of Club events Waldo would appreciate it if you could share them as he is working on compiling photos for the 60th Anniversary party. He can give you a thumb drive to put them on for him.

Sunshine: Linda Thomsen heads up Sunshine. 4 cards were sent out to members. July Birthdays and Anniversaries were noted. If you have knowledge of Club members, such as get-wells, deaths, births, etc. please contact Linda with the information.

Old Business: The 60th Anniversary Committee met. Sherri Brown, Donna Jochim and Kathy Nelson will be the main people on this. September 26th 2021. The Camden Center, 2701 First Street East, Milan Illinois. Cost is $25.00 per person. The time is set from 2pm. to 8pm. Cocktails are at 4 pm. Dinner provided by DeBords with a cash bar at 5 pm. They have 250 validated names and addresses so far to mail postcards out to. Motion for budget expenses made by Al Fiscus and seconded by Deanna Glossop, Motion carried

New Business: Reservation form for the 60th Anniversary is on the website. Will need volunteers to park cars for this. New Business Cards now available. Mail Chimp at 80-85% which is good. Drive Out books available at meetings. Jeff Olsen said he would make 10 pies for the September meeting as long as members provide the ice cream! Asked members to help clean up the meeting room and enjoy City Limits again. Motion to adjourn made by John Severs and seconded by Ron Mathias. Meeting adjourned at 8:30 pm.
