President Darrell Amato called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
45 members and 5 guests were present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. A moment of silence was observed for all Veterans, Fallen, Past and Current Military Personnel and First Responders.
Secretary’s Report: The minutes will only be posted to the website. Motion to accept the May Minutes as submitted was made by Anne Sherman and seconded by Bob Hebestreit. Motion carried.
Treasurers’ Report: Sherri Brown passed around a current Club’s balance sheet for members to see. Credits TBK were: Donation Business Card Expense, Rita Painter and Service Charge Refund. Debits TBK were: Rallye Expense reimbursement- Butch Thomsen, Secretary of State annual report filing fee, Debit withdrawal to move money to IHMVCU and Service Charge.
IHMVCU credits were: Deposit to establish a new account and transfer from TBK account. Debits were: none Charity: Credits TBK were: 50/50, Birthdays/Anniversaries, No Name Tag and Donna Jochim’s Covid Project notebooks. Debits TBK were: Closing withdrawal. IHMVCU credits were: Deposit to establish a new account and transfer from TBK closed account. IHMVCU debits were: none.
Motion to pay for 60th Anniversary postcards made by Denny Waddell and seconded by Randy Carlz. Motion carried. Motion to accept Treasurer Report made by Carol Mathias and seconded by Butch Thomsen. Motion carried.
Governor’s Report: Al Fiscus talked about drive outs, the 60th Anniversary planning meeting and events listed on NCCC.org under the Mid-West region. The Low Speed Event is next, to be held on August 15th.
Membership: Gale Brown reported that we have 111 members. Tom Hampton has a new 2014 Lime Rock Green convertible stingray. Sharon Langel is a returning member. Visitor Barry Hoff has a 2000 Corvette color is Bowling Green. Terry Leafgreen and Kevin Litchfield were visiting from the Galesburg club. Randy and Jane Huber were back for a visit so stopped in for our meeting. If you have a lost or damaged, need a name change on your Club Name Tag let Gale know and he will get you a new one. If you have changes (car, plates, address, phone, etc.) let Gale know so he can get the information corrected. Updated list is on the website.

- July 10 Open Drive Out, meet SE parking lot Southpark Mall Moline IL. 9:30 am, driver meeting 9:45 am, leave 10 am.
- July 14 dinner at Luli’s 1213 10th Ave. W Milan IL. 6pm.
- July 25 Open Drive Out, meet former Ascentra LeClaire IA. 9:30 am, driver meeting 9:45 am, leave 10 am.
- July 28 Coffee/Breakfast Iowa Machine Shed Davenport IA. 9 am.
A motion to invite Tom Pospisil and his wife to the 60th Anniversary party and the Club pay for their admittance was made by John Severs and seconded by Denny Waddell. Motion carried. Jeff Olsen brought a berry pie in to auction off for Charity. Rita Painter bought it then gave it back to sell again and Sue Severs bought it.
We welcome and encourage all members to take an active role to plan and lead at least 1 drive out this year. Thank You!
Speed: Butch Thomsen talked about the Low Speed event on August 15th. Set up will be on the 14th around 2 pm. Next month there will be a volunteer sign up sheet passed around. Dale Samuelson will do the scoring again for us.
Communications: Rick Sherman heads communications. Looking at a possible 2-3 day Drive Out and people who would like to help put some together and even the regular Open Drive Outs for ideas. A fall weekend drive out will be postponed but possibly a weekend drive out for next spring will happen. The last drive out went to Potter’s Mill and Michelle Ingersoll printed off route directions for the book for open drives. Thanks Michelle! If you have ideas let’s hear them!
Charity: Donna Jochim leads Charity. 50/50 winners were Bill Morrissey Sr. and Waldo Arnholz (who both donated the money back to Charity). Charity is asking for some Fundraising ideas, so if you have any suggestions let Donna know.
Webmaster: Please use the website. If you have any questions contact Chuck Hersey. You should all be getting emails on a regular basis. 60th Anniversary postcard and flier posted to website, fill out the flier for reservations.
Car Show: Roger Miller had several shows to talk about. LeClaire Cars & Coffee, Colona, Tinley Park, Durant and Clear Lake to mention a few. Links on website! If you know of any local car shows, let Roger know.
Publicity: Jean Amato. Articles will be sent to 2 newspapers about the 60th Anniversary party, postcard and flier have been added to the website and Denny Waddell’s daughter is writing an article for Blue Bars. Suggested to put information out on internet sites.
Parade: Jim Scranton is heading parades, wondered if there was any interest in East Moline July 4th. Let Jim know. Tom Marckese is doing Geneseo June 20th 2 pm. Has spots for 3 cars with MWC. Call Tom if interested.
Quartermaster: Kathy Nelson. Sample shirts for 60th Anniversary were on hand, this special events orders were taken. If you were not at the meeting and want a shirt you can place your order online. No orders will be taken at the meetings as it is all online on the website now. If you have any problems contact Kathy and she will help you through it. Clothing tab is now on the main page of the website, no password needed to access.
Historian: Waldo Arnholz. If you have photos from the last 10 years of Club events Waldo would appreciate it if you could share them as he is working on compiling photos for the 60th Anniversary party. He can give you a thumb drive to put them on for him.
Sunshine: Linda Thomsen heads up Sunshine. 6 cards were sent out to members. June Birthdays and Anniversaries were noted. If you have knowledge of Club members, such as get-wells, deaths, births, etc. please contact Linda with the information.
Old Business: The 60th Anniversary Committee met. Sherri Brown, Donna Jochim and Kathy Nelson will be the main people on this. September 26th 2021. The Camden Center, 2701 First Street East, Milan Illinios. Cost is $25.00 per person. The time is set from 2pm. to 8pm. Cocktails are at 4 pm. Dinner provided by DeBords with a cash bar at 5 pm.
New Business: Randy Huber talked about his and Jane’s move to Texas and joining Corvette Clubs there, how it just didn’t click with them as they were so used to our amazing Club. Vettes on the River will be held August 28th. Online registration is open. City Limits is open for us after meetings again. Darrell and Jean Amato have sold their Corvette and even though there is a 3 month deferment on membership, they are resigning from the President and Social positions now and will stay just as members. They will at some point probably come back when life is not asking so much of them. Asked members to help clean up the meeting room and enjoy City Limits again.
