President Darrell Amato called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
35 members and 1 returning guest were present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. A moment of silence was observed for all Veterans, Fallen, Past and Current Military Personnel and First Responders.
Secretary’s Report: The minutes will only be posted to the website. Motion to accept the April Minutes as submitted was made by Mike Alvarado and seconded by Robbie Bentley. Motion carried.
Treasurers’ Report: Sherri Brown displayed a Rallye balance sheet and a current Club’s balance sheet for members to see. Credits were: New Membership Dues, Rallye Registrations, Car Flag sale, Pro-rated new Companion Membership with NCCC and Service Charge Refund. Debits were: NCCC Membership Dues and Service Charge. Charity: Credits were: 50/50, Birthdays/Anniversaries, No Name Tag, Donna Jochim’s Covid Project Notebooks and Rallye 50/50 and Poker Cards. Debits were: Service Charge. Motion to pay Rallye Expenses was made by Don VanDeWoestyne and seconded by Bill Ingersoll. Motion carried. Motion to change from TBK Bank to I.H. Mississippi Valley Credit Union was made by Al Fiscus and seconded by Carol Mathias. Motion Carried. Motion to accept Treasurer Report made by Denny Waddell and seconded by Bill Morrissey. Motion carried.
Governor’s Report: Al Fiscus thanked Butch and Linda Thomsen for all their work on the Spring Rallye. The Low Speed Event is next to be held on August 15th. Everything is set thru NCCC.
Membership: Gale Brown reported that we have 110 members. No new or changed. If you have a lost or damaged, need a name change on your Club Name Tag let Gale know and he will get you a new one. If you have changes (car, plates, address, phone, etc.) let Gale know so he can get the information corrected. Updated list is on the website.
Social: Jean Amato was absent. Check the website calendar! May 16 Open Drive Out, meeting at former Ascentra Credit Union in LeClaire 9:30 am., Driver meeting at 9:45, leave at 10 am. June 6 Open Drive Out, meeting at former Ascentra Credit Union in LeClaire 9:30 am., Driver meeting 9:45, leave at 10 am. June 27 Open Drive Out, meeting at former Ascentra Credit Union in LeClaire 9:30 am., Driver Meeting 9:45, leave at 10 am. We welcome and encourage all members to take an active role to plan and lead at least 1 drive out this year. Thank You!
Speed: Butch Thomsen thanked all the volunteers for the help with the Rallye, the Club members and guests who participated and Eriksens’ for allowing us to start there. It was a very good turn out with 24 cars participating!
Communications: Rick Sherman heads communications. Looking at a possible 2-3 day Drive Out and people who would like to help put some together and even the regular Sunday Drive Outs for ideas. Plans are in the works for an early fall drive and possibly one for next spring. If you have ideas let’s hear them!
Charity: Donna Jochim leads Charity. 50/50 winners were Bill Morrissey IV and Linda Thomsen (who both donated the money back to Charity). Thanked Carl for taking over the selling tonight as Donna was in a Board of Directors meeting until a few minutes before the regular meeting. Charity is asking for some Fundraising ideas, so if you have any suggestions let Donna know.
Webmaster: Please use the website. If you have any questions contact Chuck Hersey. You should all be getting emails on a regular basis. It was good to see both Chuck and Kim at Big Grove Brewery in Solon (destination of last Drive Out).
Car Show: Roger Miller had several shows to talk about. Alpha, Geneseo, LeClaire Cars & Coffee, Camp Courageous, Arlen Park, Colona, Tinley Park, and Savanna to mention a few. Links are on the website! If you know of any local car shows, let Roger know.
Publicity: Jean Amato was absent. Articles will be sent to newspapers about the 60th Anniversary party, will add something to the website and on social media venues.
Parade: The general feeling of the membership was that we do not need a chairperson for this position. No one knew of any upcoming parades.
Quartermaster: Kathy Nelson had masks for sale with a portion of the sale going to Charity. Also had some old FunFest books for the giving. No orders will be taken at the meetings as it is all online on the website now. If you have any problems contact Kathy and she will help you through it. Clothing tab is now on main page of website, no password needed to access.
Historian: Waldo Arnholz. If you have photos from the last 10 years of Club events Waldo would appreciate it if you could share them as he is working on compiling photos for the 60th Anniversary party. He can give you a thumb drive to put them on for him.
Sunshine: Linda Thomsen heads up Sunshine. 1 card was sent out to a member. May Birthdays and Anniversaries were noted. If you have knowledge of Club members, such as get-wells, deaths, births, etc. please contact Linda with the information.
Old Business: The 60th Anniversary Committee will meet May 18th, 6 pm. at Eriksens’. Is everyone getting NCCC and Corvette Adventures emails? If not contact Darrell Amato.
New Business: 60th Anniversary Shirts will be a Dri Fit shirt, color Team Red (a dark red) printed with the Anniversary Logo. The cost is $40 and will have some sample sizes soon to try on for ordering. The Club would like to do a big order all at once and will have a date for that soon. The Club needs to order more business cards thru Beardsley, motion to order 1000 cards made by Jim Scranton and seconded by John Severs. Motion carried. Rita Painter said she would pay for the cost of printing the business cards as a donation. Thank You Rita! City Limits has short kitchen hours during the week so thought maybe by June they would open for longer and we would be able to go back after the meetings. If not it was suggested to look into another venue, Luli’s might be a possibility. Asked members to help clean up the meeting room. Motion to adjourn made by John Severs and seconded by Don VanDeWoestyne. Meeting adjourned at 7:50 pm.
