President Deanna Glossop called the meeting to order at 6:30PM. There were 43 members present and 2 guests. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. A moment of silence was observed for all Veterans, Fallen, Past and Current Military Personnel and First Responders..
Election of 2023 Board of Directors, ballots at the front table for voting and a basket to place the finished ballot in. Jim Scranton and Bill Ingersoll agreed to tally the ballots once collected. There are 2 positions open, Vice President and Membership. If anyone is interested, please contact a Board member.
Secretary’s Report: Susan Severs – The minutes will only be posted to the website. Last month the Secretary missed reporting Sherri Brown taking the pie that was auctioned. Euchre Night should have been listed under the Social section instead of the Charity section and the Awards Dinner is at Riverfront Grille, not Riverhouse. Motion to accept the Minutes as submitted was made by Bruce Petty and seconded by Carol Mathias. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report: Sherri Brown – Passed a current Club’s balance sheet around for members to see. Credits were: Member Dues, Awards Banquet and Dividend. Debits were: 3-Al Fiscus Memorial Funds Scholarships and Gale Brown-reimbursement certificates/frames Awards Banquet. Charity: Credits were: 50/50, Birthday/Anniversaries, No Name Tag and pie auction. Debits were: Oler House Fire donation and Jochim medical expenses donation. Savings Account Main and Charity: has not changed. Motion to accept Treasurer’s report made by Jeff Olson and seconded by Rick Sherman. Motion carried.
Governor’s Report: John Severs – Renewals for 2023 are done. You should have received an email with a printable link if you need yours before the plastic cards can be mailed (sometime in the first quarter of the year). If you did not get the email, contact John.
Membership: Gale Brown – If you have a lost or damaged, need a name change on your Club name tag, let Gale know, he’ll get you a new one. If you have changes (car, plates, address, phone, etc.) let Gale know so he can update the information. The Club has 140 members, 121 have renewed for the 2023 year. Gale talked with someone from the River City Reader (a free publication), and they will be listing our Club information throughout 2023. Gale also thanked the Club members for trusting him the last 4 years as the Membership Director. Ryan Lane was our visitor who owns a C5 convertible. Jeff and Gail Olson now have a 2014 Torch Red (manual) C7. Rita Painter now owns a 2023 Elkhart Lake Blue C8.
Social: Carl Burney – We welcome and encourage all members to take an active role to plan and lead 1 drive out. Carl thanked Mike and Deb Alvarado for leading 2 drive outs last month. The scheduled drive outs are done for the year, but if there is a nice day coming up, shoot Michelle Ingersoll a message and she will post on Facebook for others to join in if they want. The October weekend drive out netted 5 parking tickets all at the same place. Nov. 10 Breakfast at Machine Shed 7250 Northwest Blvd. Davenport IA. 9am. Nov. 12 Euchre tournament & potluck at Donna Jochim’s 135 Beacon Harbor Pkwy East Moline IL. 5pm. Contact Donna Jochim for more information. Nov. 19 Muscle Car and Corvette National Car Show at Donald E Stephens Convention Center Rosemont, IL. Contact Carl Burney for more information. Nov. 30 Dinner meet at Jenny’s Boxcar 545 12th Ave. East Moline IL. 6pm. Awards Banquet Dec. 10 from 1-4 pm. Riverfront Grille 4619 34th St. Rock Island IL. Buffet is $25 per person, cash bar, make checks to MWC mail to PO Box 111 Milan IL, 61264 before Dec. 1st.
Speed: Butch Thomsen – Nothing to report.
Communications: Michelle Ingersoll – Reminder emails are sent at least 1 per week. If you are not getting these, contact Michelle and she can help you with this or go to the Club website and under the Members tab there is a link for MailChimp, enter your name and email and you are set up to receive emails. Read a Thank You note from 1 of the Al Fiscus Memorial recipients. Denny and Rosie Meyer are selling their ’09 C6 Corvette. Michelle will get the information and post to the Facebook page.
Charity: Donna Jochim – 50/50 winners were: John Severs (donated back) and Cindy Kuehner. A thank you from Ryan Jochim was read for the medical donation. John Earnest made a request for a donation to K Kids in Florida which is a foster kid’s program. Motion made by John Severs and seconded by Bruce Petty. Motion carried. Donna would like to have your suggestions for Christmas donations in by Nov. 16th. Auction items: dark chocolate creme pie went to Bruce Petty, Corvette T-shirt went to Rita Painter and a blue diecast C7 went to John Severs.

Parades: Jim Scranton – No report.
Quartermaster: Kathy Nelson & Rita Painter – Rita had some new hats in, along with the tank tops and regular shirts. If you have an article of clothing, you can have the Club emblem put on it. Bring it in to Rita and she will get it done for you. The iron on screen print runs $3-$5 and the embroidered runs $9-$10.
Historian: Waldo Arnholz – Nothing to report.
Sunshine: Linda Thomsen – 1 card was sent out. Birthdays and Anniversaries were noted. If you have knowledge of Club members, such as get-wells, deaths, births, etc. please contact Linda.

Old Business: The 2023 Corvette Adventures tickets are still an ongoing silent auction item that will be awarded at the Awards Banquet, so still time to get your bid in. Rick Sherman Thanked Rolly and Pam Bogert for their help on the Winona MN. drive out. We were told that there were TVs in the bathrooms at the hotel (ask Carl Burney)! Sherri and Gale Brown made a quick visit to Denny Waddell and Fay at their new residence and were told to tell everyone hello and he misses us.
New Business: The only contested Board of Directors position was for President. Quint Early was elected to fill the 2023 term. The Vice President position remains open. Governor – John Severs. Secretary – Susan Severs. Treasurer – Kristin Early. Speed – Sean McKay. Social – Carl Burney. Membership position remains open. Charity – Donna Jochim. If anyone is interested in Vice President or Membership, please contact a Board member. Honorary Membership will be bestowed upon Randy and Jane Huber and Tom Pospicil. The Constitution change was approved for Section E. Lifetime Membership which states: 1. Lifetime membership will be conferred upon any member with 25 cumulative years of membership. 2. Lifetime members will be recognized at the Annual Awards Banquet. 3. MWC dues will be waived for Lifetime Members, the Club will pay the NCCC dues, but once a Lifetime Member opts out of NCCC, they will have to contact the Membership Director to ask to be added back in. 4. Lifetime Members do not need to own a Corvette, but if no Corvette is owned, they will have no voting privileges. If a Corvette is owned, then they will have voting privileges.
