President Deanna Glossop called the meeting to order at 6:30PM. There were 47 members present and 1 guests. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. A moment of silence was observed for all Veterans, Fallen, Past and Current Military Personnel and First Responders..
Hoped everyone had a good Labor Day. Rather warm in the meeting room as the air wasn’t working properly, so suggested to move the meeting along to get done quickly.
Secretary’s Report: Susan Severs – The minutes will only be posted to the website. Motion to accept the Minutes as submitted was made by Robbie Bentley and seconded by Mike Alvarado. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report: Sherri Brown – Passed a current Club’s balance sheet around for members to see. Credits were: Member Dues, Low Speed, Sponsorship and Dividend. Debits were: NCCC DeFrang/Medinger, Bob Nelson-reimbursement Christmas in July, Donna Jochim-reimbursement Locked Storage Cabinet, Butch/Linda Thomsen-reimbursement Low Speed/Sunshine expenses, River Bend Food Pantry, Mark Thomas for Aniston, and Elks Lodge 894-Honor Flight c/o Galesburg Corvette Club. Charity: Credits were: 50/50, Name Tags, Birthdays/Anniversaries and Raffle. Debits were: None. Savings Account Main and Charity: Unchanged.
Governor’s Report: John Severs – No Report
Membership: Gale Brown – If you have a lost or damaged, need a name change on your Club name tag, let Gale know, he’ll get you a new one. If you have changes (car, plates, address, phone, etc.) let Gale know so he can update the information. The Club has 139 members, 13 Lifetime and 2 Honorary. Newest members are Jeff and Patti Bellmyer who own a 1984 C4 and who won a 2022 Gray C8 in the National Sprint Car Museum and Hall of Fame drawing. Walter and Vicky Schuttler who own a 2003 Red 50th Anniversary Edition C5 and Alan Dean who owns a 1980 Blue C3. Our visitor was Phil Maess who owns a C4. Gale reminded everyone of Rita Painters offer for bringing in a new member. Updated lists are on the website.
Social: Carl Burney – We welcome and encourage all members to take an active role to plan and lead 1 drive out. Sept. 11 Open Drive meet at former Ascentra Credit Union 949 Mississippi View Ct. LeClaire IA. 9:30am, leave at 10am. Sept. 14 Breakfast meet at Food Affair Bistro 1015 Utica Ridge Pl. 9am. Sept 17-19 Waterfalls and Wineries Drive Out meet at QC Mart 2576 190th St. Welton IA. 9am, leave at 9:30am. Sept. 25 Open Drive meet at former Ascentra 949 Mississippi View Ct. LeClaire IA. 9:30am, leave at 10am. Sept. 28 Dinner meet at Montana Jacks 5400 27th St. Moline IL. 6pm. Oct. 2 Chili Potluck Severs big garage meet at noon, bring some food to share, your beverage of choice (will have water and coffee) and a chair to sit in. Oct. 8 Tanners Drive Out meet at Eriksen’s 9:30am, leave at 10am. Oct. 14-16 Winona Fall Drive Out. Dec. 10 Awards Banquet Riverfront Grill Rock Island 1pm-4pm.
Speed: Butch Thomsen – Talked about Low-Speed Event. 18 cars were present with 3 being from our own Club. It went pretty well for a new venue and course once they got started. It pretty much ends the speed events for the year. Butch told membership they have sold their Corvette and the Speed position is open for 2023.
Communications: Michelle Ingersoll – Reminder emails are sent at least 1 per week. If you are not getting these, contact Michelle and she can help you with this or go to the Club website and under the Members tab there is a link for MailChimp, enter your name and email and you are set up to receive emails. Bill Morrissey III is doing better, Bob and Judy Hebestreit’s son passed away and Bob Nelson’s Mother passed away.
Charity: Donna Jochim – 50/50 winners were Carl Burney and Cindy Kuehner. Funds for our Christmas donations will be sent in December and Donna would like your ideas on charities to donate to. Send your ideas to her by Nov. 1st. please. Auction items were Corvette Doorstop-Deanna Glossop, Apple Pie-Waldo Arnholz, C7 Cup Holders- double-Les Teplicky/Single-Donna Jochim, 4 Corvette Hot wheels-John Severs.

Car Shows: Roger Miller – Car Shows are on the Calendar. There are also links to external sites that list car shows. If you know of any local car shows let Roger know. Roger was absent. Rick Sherman told about Green Cheverolet car show on Oct. 15 11am-2pm.
Publicity: Open position
Parades: Jim Scranton – Talked about Tug Fest parade, nothing on the agenda that he knows of. If you know of one you can contact Jim.
Quartermaster: Kathy Nelson & Rita Painter – both absent as Kathy’s Mother-in-Law passed away and Rita was preparing for back surgery the next day. No report.
Historian: Waldo Arnholz – Nothing to report.
Sunshine: Linda Thomsen – Linda was absent so Butch gave the report. 4 cards were sent out. Birthdays and Anniversaries were noted. A Thank You card was read to the membership. If you have knowledge of Club members, such as get-wells, deaths, births, etc. please contact Linda.

Old Business: The one-time scholarship in Al Fiscus’ name is open to Club members and Eriksen’s employees with relatives attending college or trade school. Forms can be obtained from Erica Walker (Eriksen’s) or Deanna Glossop and the drawing of 3 names will be held at the October business meeting. Silent auction of Corvette Adventures 2023 weekend ticket is ongoing and will be awarded at the Dec. 10th Banquet. 16 cars went to Galesburg for their Club fund raising event and a check was presented to them for donation to Honor Flight. Last month Article V Officers and Directors Section E Treasurer was read to the membership and a request to change the dollar amount from $100 to $200 was asked for. As per Constitution rules the matter was tabled until voting at this month’s meeting. After rereading the Article this month to the membership, a motion to change the dollar amount was mad by Ron Mathias and seconded by Bill Ingersoll. Motion carried.
New Business: Gale Brown asked for a donation for house fire victims Chase and Jessica Oler. Motion made by Carol Mathias and seconded by John Severs. Motion carried. The budget for the Awards Banquet was discussed. The cost is $25 per person and any overage on the cost will be picked up by the Club. Motion to accept the budget was made by Sharon Morrissey and seconded by Ross Scott. Motion carried. Members were asked to help clean up the meeting room and invited to Legends afterwards. Adjourn 7:28pm.
