President Quint Early called the meeting to order at 6:30PM. There were 46 members present and 3 guests. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. A moment of silence was observed for all Veterans, Fallen, Past and Current Military Personnel and First Responders..

Sign-up sheets were passed, reminder that Birthday/Anniversaries/No Name Tag donations should be given at the beginning of the meeting and auction items paid as soon as you win the bid. Quint and Kristin will be going to Bloomington Gold next year and will have more information as it gets closer.

Secretary’s Report: Susan Severs – The minutes will only be posted to the website. Motion to accept the Minutes as submitted was made by Deanna Glossop and seconded by Bob Hebestreit. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report: Kristin Early – Passed a current Club’s balance sheet around for members to see. Credits were: New Membership Fees (Anderson, Foster, Mewes and Roos) and Dividend. Debits were: Kristin Early reimburse Membership expense, Secretary of State Annual Report and Bob Nelson reimburse pavilion fee Christmas in July. Charity: Credits were: 50/50, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Auction and Donations. Debits were: Izaak Walton League (Spring Bash Thank you). Savings Account Main and Charity: no changes. Motion to accept Treasurer’s report made by Carol Mathias and seconded by Ross Scott. Motion carried.

Governor’s Report: John Severs – No Report

Membership: Kristin Early – If you have a lost or damaged, need a name change on your Club name tag, let her know, she’ll get you a new one. If you have changes (car, plates, address, phone, etc.) let Kristin know so she can update the information. Guest Jim and Mary Whitmyer are the owner of a white ’61 Corvette. Reminder that we have business cards and postcards you can use to hand out. Melissa Thorngren was at the meeting and was happy to see old friends and all the new faces that have become members.

Social: Carl Burney – We welcome and encourage all members to take an active role to plan and lead 1 drive out. 14 Vettes and 27 people went on the last drive out. Bring a lawn chair as we will meet in the park. 6/24 Open Drive Out meet at former Ascentra Credit Union 949 Mississippi View Ct. LeClaire Ia. 9:30 am. Driver meeting at 9:45 am, leave at 10 am. 7/8 Scheduled open drive will go to Sherrard IL. for a car show fundraiser for the Sherrard Fire Department. Meet at Eriksen’s 9:30 am., driver meeting 9:45, leave at 10 am. Stopping at Lavendar Crest after the car show. 7/23 Christmas in July Hickory Hills Shelter House Scott County Park, drive out information coming soon. White Elephant gift exchange, games. Bring a dish to share, lawn chair and your drink of choice. 8/5-6 Volo Museum trip meet former Ascentra 949 Mississippi View Ct. LeClaire IA. 9:30 am, driver meeting 9:45 and leave 10 am. Speed: Sean McKay – Kenny Anderson Memorial Low Speed Event August 13th 7am. Brady Street Stadium Parking Lot. Finally got the bill for last year. Sean is looking for volunteers to help out. Corvette Adventures is 9/8,9,10 and you can contact Sean for more information. Lake of the Ozarks 2024 4/27-29. Sean will again lead and more info will be forthcoming.

Communications: Michelle Ingersoll – Reminder emails are sent at least 1 per week. If you are not getting these, contact Michelle and she can help you with this or go to the Club website and under the Members tab there is a link for MailChimp, enter your name and email and you are set up to receive emails.

Charity: Donna Jochim – 50/50 winners were Del Traub and Kristin Early. The Rhubarb custard pie winning bid went to Jeff Bellmyer. Sharon Langel was presented her Certificate of Appreciation Award.

If you have suggestions or ideas for website improvements, please let Chuck know. F.Y.I. Members are able to update information in your user profile including information on your Corvette such as Model, Year, Color, and License Plate #.

Car Shows: Roger Miller – Car Shows are on the Calendar. There are also links to external sites that list car shows. If you know of any local car shows let Roger know. July 8 Sherrard Fireman Fund Raiser Car Show, meet at Eriksen’s 325 1st Ave. Milan IL. at 9:30 am., leave at 10 am. This is a free car show and you can register online. John Severs has the information, phone 563-571-4080. Eriksen Chevrolet Car Show hosted by the Veterans Car Club will be August 19th at 10 am at Eriksen’s 325 1st Ave. Milan IL. $15 in advance, $20 day of, checks can be sent to Veterans Car Club of the QC 131 W. Scott St. Eldridge, IA. 52748. Vettes on the River August 26th LeClaire IA. 8 am. Register online and day of.

Publicity: Open position

Parades: Jim Scranton – Anyone wanting to do Bettendorf IA. July 4 parade contact Jim. There is usually a parade for Tug Fest on that Friday, Jim will have more information. Tom Marckese has signs for car doors if you would like to use for any of the parades.

Quartermaster: Rita Painter – was absent so no report.

Historian: Waldo Arnholz – Nothing to report.

Sunshine: Cindy Kuehner – Birthdays and Anniversaries were noted. If you have knowledge of Club members, such as get-wells, deaths, births, etc. please contact Cindy. Cindy was on vacation, so Donna Jochim has taken care of sending out 4 cards this last month.

Old Business: Al Fiscus Memorial brick and tile was asked about and a report will be coming soon.

New Business: Our July meeting date lands on the 4th, so it has been changed to JUNE 27th! 6:30 pm. at Eriksen’s. Bob Hebestreit has declined the Treasurer position as he feels he cannot do a good job with it. Carl Burney will be moved from the Social position and take the Treasurer spot, Donna Jochim will move from Charity to the Social Position and Melissa Thorngren has stepped up to fill the Charity position for the rest of this year. Thank you! Jeff Olson spoke about a concert series by Levitt Amp held every Sunday 6pm in Wiley Park in Galva IL. It’s free to attend, 2 performers every Sunday, food trucks in the park, you can bring your cooler and don’t forget lawn chairs! Everyone was invited to Luli’s after the meeting.
