Mid-West Corvettes, Inc.
May 3, 2022

President Denny Waddell called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.. There were 60 members present and 1 guests. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. A moment of silence was observed for all Veterans, Fallen, Past and Current Military Personnel and First Responders..

The Club had cake and ice cream celebrating the 62nd Anniversary of the Mid-West Corvette Club.

Vice President Deanna Glossop directed the meeting as Denny had no voice.

Board members read the following statement from Denny to the Club:

Hello everyone and Happy 62nd Anniversary from us. This is a very special anniversary for me. After my membership dating back to 1965, and having held every other office, sometimes multiple times, I’m finally your President. Sure, I’ve turned down the nominations several times. I just wanted to have fun with no strings attached, just like most of us. Well, I was wrong. With this fantastic Board of Directors, I really am just a pointer. You do this and you do that, and they not only do it, they do it without hesitancy and thoroughly. I’ve said before, a newly seated President might sometimes get a new Corvette to use for a year. Well I picked up my new C8 the first of December, just in time for my very first meeting. And I’m pretty sure I’ll still be driving it at the end of the year. Thank you God, Tom or both. I’ll take very good care of it.

Now a little bit of history to refresh members and educate new members: NCCC was established in 1959, Mid-West Corvettes was established in 1960, MWC joined the NCCC in the early 1960’s, MWC and NCCC accepted me in 1965.

I’ve seen our original membership grow and shrink, from a low of 7 members to sometimes just over 200 and now about 130 members. MWC has had 5 sponsors, Mills Chevrolet in Moline, Warren Chevrolet in East Moline and Eriksen’s in Milan(through 3 different owner/operator dealers). All 3 dealerships were great for MWC and generous too.

It’s all true, we came for the cars and we stayed for the people.

And my special thanks goes out to our Charity fund. We’ve helped out children and anyone needing a hand up. Back in the day our charity of choice was Spinabifita and branched out from there.

Thanks to all for being so loyal and active to MWC and NCCC. And I’m sorry I had to not speak. My voice today isn’t strong to make the PA system work. Hopefully it will next time. Denny
