President Deanna Glossop called the meeting to order at 6:27PM. There were 46 members present and 1 guests. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. A moment of silence was observed for all Veterans, Fallen, Past and Current Military Personnel and First Responders..
Happy Birthday America!
There were 2 members who stated that they might be interested in the Vice President position, after talking to 1 they decided they were too busy and the other agreed and was appointed (per the Club Constitution) to fill out the term for this year by President Deanna Glossop. We are pleased to have Michelle Ingersoll in the Vice President position for the remainder of this year’s term.
Secretary’s Report: Susan Severs – The minutes will only be posted to the website. Motion to accept the Minutes as submitted was made by Jim Scranton and seconded by Robbie Bentley. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report: Sherri Brown – Passed a current Club’s balance sheet around for members to see. Credits were: New Members-DeFrang/Medinger and Dividend. Debits were: John Severs-Governor Meeting Reimbursement, NCCC-Petty/Johnson/Kuehner, Gale Brown-2 P.O. Box Keys Reimbursement, Sec of State-Change Agent Address and John Severs-Al Fiscus Memorial Museum Tile/Brick Reimbursement Charity: Credits were: 50/50, Name Tags, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Auction plus Cash Donation. Debits were: None. Savings Account Main and Charity: remain the same.
Sherri is not running for this Board position for 2023, so if you might be interested, she would help you acclimate to the duties involved so you could run for nomination in October.
Governor’s Report: John Severs – Nothing to report this month.
Membership: Gale Brown – If you have a lost or damaged, need a name change on your Club name tag, let Gale know, he’ll get you a new one. If you have changes (car, plates, address, phone, etc.) let Gale know so he can update the information.
The Club has 134 Members, the latest updated list is on the website, reminded everyone of Rita Painter’s offer of $ for any Club Member/Couple who bring in a new member/couple that attends 4 Club functions.
Yearly Membership Renewal Dues are due by the September business meeting, please make checks payable to MWCC.
Our guest was Phil Maines who owns a 1989 Red C4.
Gale is not running for this Board position in 2023, if you are interested, he will help you learn the duties so you can run for nomination in October.
Social: Carl Burney – We welcome and encourage all members to take an active role to plan and lead 1 drive out.

July 24 Drive Out to Scott County Park for Christmas in July meet at Cabo’s Grill 1500 E. LeClaire Rd. Eldridge IA. 10:30 am. Depart 11 am. July 26 Breakfast at Cracker Barrel 300 Jason Way CT. Davenport IA. 9 am.
Michelle Ingersoll talked about the September 17-19 Waterfalls/Wineries trip. If you have questions, contact Michelle.
Rich Sherman talked about the October 14-16 Winnona trip. Any questions contact Rick. He also had 2 tickets to Corvette Adventures for next year that he gave to Deanna for the Board to decide on disbursing (auction, raffle, gift, etc.).
Speed: Butch Thomsen – passed a volunteer sheet around for the Low-Speed Event on August 14th to be held at Brady Street Stadium parking lot. This is 7 events with 2 runs per event. Helmets are required (Snell ratings) and as the Clubs helmets are outdated you will need to bring your own. Water will be provided and a light lunch.
If you have never tried this, come out and watch or join in, it’s lots of fun and you will have a smile on your face for days!
Communications: Michelle Ingersoll – Reminder emails are sent at least 1 per week. If you are not getting these, contact Michelle and she can help you with this or go to the Club website and under the Members tab there is a link for MailChimp, enter your name and email and you are set up to receive emails.
Charity: Donna Jochim – was absent, so Linda Thomsen filled in. 50/50 winners were Bill Morrissey Sr. and Roger Miller
Robbie Bentley thanked the Club for the donation to her great-granddaughter’s (who just turned 1) medical expenses and gave news of the heart transplant and how she is doing.
Mention was made of Club member Joanie Keil’s son having passed away.
A Dutch Apple Pie donated by Jeff Olson was auctioned with the winning bid going to Rita Painter.
Webmaster: Please use the website. If you have any questions, contact Chuck Hersey (webmaster@mwcorvettes.com). If you have suggestions or ideas for website improvements, please let Chuck know. Discussion on the Calendar was held, and Deanna said the issue should be fixed as Chuck worked on it.
Car Shows: Roger Miller – Car Shows are on the Calendar. There are also links to external sites that list car shows. If you know of any local car shows let Roger know.
July 8 Bettendorf Cars and Coffee, July 16 LeClaire Cars and Coffee, July 17 Durant Car Show, July 24 Bishop Hill Car Show.
August has Clear Lake, Mississippi Valley Antique Car Show, River to River and Corvettes for Charity.
Publicity: Open position
Parades: Jim Scranton – E. Moline cancelled their July 4th Parade due to weather. Next up is Tug Fest and Jim will get some information on that.
Quartermaster: Kathy Nelson & Rita Painter – Nothing new but had shirts and hats for sale.
Historian: Waldo Arnholz – Nothing to report.
Sunshine: Linda Thomsen – 3 cards were sent. Birthdays and Anniversaries were noted. If you have knowledge of Club members, such as get-wells, deaths, births, etc. please contact Linda.

Old Business: John Severs told members that the Museum Tile and Brick for the Al Fiscus Memorial have been ordered and they will let him know when they are in. Deanna Glossop read a Thank You Card from the Porter family for the flowers.
New Business: The Annual Awards Dinner will be held December 10th at the Riverfront Grill from 1-4 pm. Estimated cost is $20 per person. More information will follow in the coming months. Carl Burney asked for some $ for charcoal/table service for July 24 picnic. Motion made by Carol Mathias and seconded by Bill Ingersoll. Motion carried. Linda Thomsen asked for $ for flowers for Joanie Keil’s sons funeral. Motion made by Carl Burney and seconded by John Severs. Motion carried.
Everyone was asked to help clean up the meeting room and invited to Legends afterward.
