President Quint Early called the meeting to order at 6:30PM. There were 48 members present and 2 guests. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. A moment of silence was observed for all Veterans, Fallen, Past and Current Military Personnel and First Responders..

Reminder to set phones to silent, wear nametags to all Club functions and donate for Birthdays/Anniversaries/No Name Tag at the beginning of the meeting if wishing to do so. Sign-up sheet for Ice Cream was passed. Since Breakfasts have had small attendance, they will be suspended over the summer months and start again in the fall. So, the last one will be held this month (May).

Secretary’s Report: Susan Severs – The minutes will only be posted to the website. Motion to accept the Minutes as submitted was made by Randy Carlz and seconded by Robbie Bentley. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report: Carl Burney – Passed a current Club’s balance sheet around for members to see. Income was: Membership Fee. Expense was: Rallye Seed Money and Postage. Charity: Income was: Monthly Meeting and Rallye Revenue. Expense was: Casselman Donation. Motion to accept Treasurer’s report made by Carol Mathias and seconded by Gale Brown. Motion carried. Thanked Jeff and Patti Bellmyer for a great Rallye.

Governor’s Report: John Severs – NCCC sends a welcome email to new members. Changed distance from 150 to 100 miles for events being planned by separate clubs (region), with the exception of Mid-West Region. WVV was the official clock to synchronize time if timing on a Rallye, but can now just use cell phones. Waiver news-Only the Front page will be used as it has all the verbiage on it and you must sign your own name to it, no one else can sign for you.

Membership: Kristin Early – If you have a lost or damaged, need a name change on your Club name tag, let Kristin know, she’ll get you a new one. If you have changes (car, plates, address, phone, etc.) let Kristin know so she can update the information. And don’t forget – members can update their information themselves including any updates to your Corvette model, year, color, and license plate. Visitors were Leonard and Josie Wahls who own 2008 and 2016 Corvettes. Pat Nichols brought them to the meeting so gets points in the Membership Contest ongoing for 4 more months.

Social: Donna Jochim – We welcome and encourage all members to take an active role to plan and lead 1 drive out. May 11 Hall of Fame drive out meet at 8:30 am at I-74 E. Krisdala Baka Rest Area (mile marker 28). May 15 Breakfast at Mill’s Pancake House 1320 5th Ave. Moline IL. 9 am. May 19 Camp Courageous car show drive out meets Blue Grass BP 235 N Oak Ln. 8:30 am, leave at 9 am. May 29 Ice Cream 6:30 at Molly’s Cupcakes 2503 53 Ave. Bettendorf IA. June 1 Open Drive meet at former Ascentra 949 Mississippi View Ct. LeClaire IA. 9:30, leave 10 am. June 8 Knoxville Sprint Car drive out Overnight hotel Cobblestone Hotel Suites 641-828-6100. Route is still being planned by Jeff Bellmyer. July 27 Christmas in July at Hickory Hills Shelter House in Scott County Park. Melissa Thorngren is looking for someone to help her plan this, contact her or Donna Jochim via text or email. August 24-25 Low Speed event, more information to follow. September 21 Petty’s Car Show 2 pm. 305 106th Ave W. Taco bar, everyone asked to bring a dish to share, your own drinks and chairs. October 18-20 Winona weekend leaves from Cody Road Coffee 205 S 9th Ave. Eldridge IA. 9 am. Plaza Hotel 507-453-0303. Anyone interested in doing a Cruise? Looking into Jan 12-18 on Carnival goes to Belize and Cozumel, inside cabin 500 per person, cabin with balcony 800 per person. Contact Sean McKay.

Speed: Jeff Bellmyer – June 8 Knoxville Sprint Car overnight drive out. Jeff is getting a route and other details put together for this, so more information will follow. Cobblestone Hotel Suites 641-828-6100 for reservation. Will be in turn 2 suite, protected parking area, museum tour and entry to the race that night.

Communications: Michelle Ingersoll – Reminder emails are sent at least 1 per week. If you are not getting these, contact Michelle and she can help you with this or go to the Club website and under the Members tab there is a link for MailChimp, enter your name and email and you are set up to receive emails.

Charity: Jan Ebert – 50/50 winners were Gale Brown (donated back), Deanna Glossop. Bob Bateman won the candy jar. Thank Yous from
previous donations. Deanna spoke about how her great-granddaughter is doing and Jan spoke about how her daughter-in-law is doing. Request from Sarah DeFrang for missionary trip, motion made by John Severs and seconded by Sherri Brown. Motion carried. John Severs requested a donation to Camp Courageous, motion made by Kristin Early and seconded by Sharon Morrissey. Motion carried. Auction items, Corvette comforter went to Deanna Glossop, C5 Flag to Terry Johnson, Vette Matchbox premiere set to Deanna Glossop and 40th Anniversary set to Bev Scranton.

Car Shows: Jeff Bellmyer – Car Shows are on the Mid-West Corvettes Calendar on the. There are also links to external sites that list car shows. If you know of any local car shows let Jeff know. 11th Muscatine car show and Moline Cars and Coffee and Alpha Car Show, 18 QCCA center Veterans Car Show and Cruisers Cruise In at South Park, 19 Geneseo Car Show and Hawks Car and Swap meet Joliet.

Parades: Jim Scranton – Had the ’64 ready to drive to the meeting since it was the one used for the Anniversary cake decoration, but then the rain came. Let Jim know if you know of a parade to participate in and will get something arranged. Tug Fest parade is Aug. 9 this year.

Quartermaster: Rita Painter and Patti Bellmyer – Had some gently used Womens shirts donated by Kamps for a donation to Charity available. If you find something you like in the books, it can be ordered in for you.

Historian: Waldo Arnholz – Nothing to report.

Sunshine: Cindy Kuehner – Birthdays and Anniversaries were noted. (Bentley’s Anniversary is also the Clubs Anniversary, same year and date). If you have knowledge of Club members, such as get-wells, deaths, births, etc. please contact Cindy. A floral arrangement was sent for Gary Huff’s Mother’s funeral.

New Business: Ethan Ellis (former member) graduates and has invited us to his party June 22 starting at noon held at Sheet Metal Workers Local Union 91 JATC address is 8124 42nd St W Rock Island IL. If interested, we may want to organize a drive for Corvettes to show up all at once. Ellen Hobert (Al Fiscus’ Ellen) has passed away.
