President Quint Early called the meeting to order at 6:30PM. There were 42 members present and 2 guests. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. A moment of silence was observed for all Veterans, Fallen, Past and Current Military Personnel and First Responders..
No sign-up sheets were passed this month, Christmas in July was a wonderful event-Thank Yous to Robbie and Carol for heading this up. Reminder that donations should be made at the beginning of the meeting and a Thank You card from the Glossop’s was read.
Secretary’s Report: Susan Severs – The minutes will only be posted to the website. Motion to accept the Minutes as submitted was made by Jeff Olson and seconded by Bob Hebestreit. Motion carried. Issue with the website and getting the minutes posted last month was due to our website email had some settings that were rendered obsolete and caused all outgoing emails to not be sent, Chuck added a new smart record and reset the DNS and it is working now.
Treasurer’s Report: Carl Burney – Passed a current Club’s balance sheet around for members to see. Credits were: Volo Trip, Low Speed and Interest. Debits were: NCCC dues, Christmas in July, Memorial gift and IL. Club Legal Fees. Charity: Credits were: none. Debits were: Daniels Donation. Motion to accept Treasurer’s report made by Melissa Thorngren and seconded by John Severs. Motion carried.
Governor’s Report: John Severs – The Governors meeting in September will vote on whether to allow the VP of Competition or the Executive Board to have the right to cancel/suspend events during a national crisis (example: like during Covid). Our membership liked the Executive Board option best and that is how John will vote for our Club.
Membership: Kristin Early – If you have a lost or damaged, need a name change on your Club name tag, let Kristin know, she’ll get you a new one. If you have changes (car, plates, address, phone, etc.) let Kristin know so she can update the information. We had 2 visitors. Bob Bateman who owns a 2023 70th Anniversary white Corvette and Eddy Eden who owns a ’14 and a ’69, was a member years ago and purchased his first Corvette from the original Bob Eriksen.
Social: Donna Jochim – We welcome and encourage all members to take an active role to plan and lead 1 drive out. Thank Yous to Russ/Robbie Bentley for putting on Christmas in July, Bob and Kathy Nelson for the table service and Severs for leading the drive out. Carl presented Bob with a ballcap that read “I’m Bob doing Bob things”. August 5 Open Drive meet at former Ascentra Cr. Union 949 Mississippi View Ct. LeClaire IA. 9:30 am, leave at 10 am. Volo Museum trip meet at former Ascentra Cr. Union 9:15 am, leave at 9:45 am. Contact Carl for information. August 9 Breakfast meet at D’Lua 1201 E. River Drive Davenport IA. 9 am. August 13 Low Speed Event meet at 1008 W. Kimberly Rd. (behind KFC) 7 am. Contact Sean for information. August 19 Veterans Car Club Car Show at Eriksen’s 325 1st Ave. Milan IL. 10 am. August 21 Ice Cream meet at Country Style 3591 Tanglefoot Ln. Bettendorf IA. 6:30 pm. August 26 Vettes on the River meet at 9 am former Ascentra Cr. Union LeClaire if you want to park as a group. August 27 Open Drive meet at former Ascentra Cr. Union 949 Mississippi View Ct. LeClaire IA 9:30 am, leave at 10 am. Charity Nominations – We are looking for nominations for our annual donation distribution in December. If you know of a charity to donate to, include name of charity and address, voting in November for distribution in December. Fall Corvette Adventures Sept. 8-10, Wisconsin Dells. Sean and Debi McKay are going. Contact Sean for more information. Severs Chili Potluck October 1 at noon at Severs. Winona Weekend October 6-8. Contact Quint/Kristin Early with questions.
Speed: Sean McKay – Venue change for the Low Speed. It will be held August 13th at 1008 W. Kimberly Rd. (Behind the KFC). 17 have preregistered. August 12 6:30 pm. committee will meet to plot the course. Day of volunteers meet 6:30 am, registration begins at 7 am. If you volunteered, please remember to bring a lawn chair, and drive out radios(charged). They are planning Fun Runs after the event for $1.00 per run. Sean asked for seed money, motion made by Sherri Brown and seconded by Gale Brown. Motion carried. There was discussion on paying the timer and to make sure everyone signs the waiver.
Communications: Michelle Ingersoll – Reminder emails are sent at least 1 per week. If you are not getting these, contact Michelle and she can help you with this or go to the Club website and under the Members tab there is a link for MailChimp, enter your name and email and you are set up to receive emails. An article in Blue Bars talked about the start-up of the Stray Vettes Corvette Club, which our Club met up with at the Sherrard Car Show, then went to Lavendar Crest with.
Charity: Melissa Thorngren – 50/50 winners were Rita Painter (donated back) and John Severs. Rita brought garden fresh tomatoes to auction, winning bid went to Sean McKay. Jeff Olson brought a banana creme pie to auction, winning bid went to Quint Early.

Members are able to update information in your user profile including information on your Corvette such as Model, Year, Color, and License Plate #.
Car Shows: Roger Miller – Car Shows are on the Calendar. There are also links to external sites that list car shows. If you know of any local car shows let Roger know.

Parades: Jim Scranton – August 11 is Tug Fest parade, if interested contact Jim.
Quartermaster: Rita Painter – Rita has ordered in a few new hats that were available.
Historian: Waldo Arnholz – Nothing to report.
Sunshine: Cindy Kuehner – Birthdays and Anniversaries were noted. If you have knowledge of Club members, such as get-wells, deaths, births, etc. please contact Cindy. 2 cards were sent this past month.

Old Business: No Old Business.
New Business: Gale Brown had leaflets on River to River Cruise which is Sept. 14-17. Kristin told our guests that she had membership forms at the meeting if interested in signing up.
Everyone was asked to help clean up the meeting room and invited to Luli’s afterward.
