President Patric Nichols called the meeting to order at 6:31PM. There were 45 members present and 0 guests. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. A moment of silence was observed for all Veterans, Fallen, Past and Current Military Personnel and First Responders..
Reminder to set phones to silent, wear nametags to all Club functions and donate for Birthdays/Anniversaries/No Name Tag at the beginning of the meeting if wishing to do so. Sign-up sheets passed for car show raffle prizes (please bring to September meeting), car show t-shirt. Need 4 pop ups 12×12 size preferred with weights to anchor them.
Secretary’s Report: Jan Ebert – Jan ditched us for a Brad Paisley concert at the fair, so Sue Severs filled in. The minutes will only be posted to the website. Motion to accept the Minutes as submitted was made by Robbie Bentley and seconded by Patti Bellmyer. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report: Carl Burney – Passed a current Club’s balance sheet around for members to see. Income was: Low Speed registration $1,310, Car show registration $ 20, car show shirts $ 18, dividend .27. Expense was: Low speed refund $ 130. Charity: Income was: Monthly raffle/auction $ 48, Vietnam Vets #299 $ 200. Expense was: 0. Motion to accept Treasurer’s report made by Roger Miller and seconded by Carol Mathias. Motion carried.
Governor’s Report: Roger Miller – Thanked all who volunteered at Low speed. 14 cars participated, Tony Cizel fastest male driver, Linda Fairlamb fastest female driver. October’s car show now listed on NCCC website under Midwest Region. Mid Illinois Corvette Club has a Low speed event the same weekend. Asked to hold Club renewals and monies until September 1st. Renewals can be made at the September and October Club meetings and the cutoff date is October 15th. Reminder that Board of Director nominations are at the October monthly meeting and voting will be at the November monthly meeting. Next Governors meeting is September 12th.
Membership: Cindy Kuehner – If you have a lost or damaged, need a name change on your Club name tag, let Cindy know, she’ll get you a new one. If you have changes (car, plates, address, phone, etc.) let Cindy know so she can update the information. And don’t forget – members can update their information themselves including any updates to your Corvette model, year, color, and license plate. Renewals begin September 1st and must be in by October 15th.
Social: Kristen Early – We welcome and encourage all members to take an active role to plan and lead 1 drive out. Petty’s Fun Day scheduled for Sept. 12th has been cancelled. Aug. 8 Galesburg invited our Club to join their drive to Arthur IL. Aug 17 Ice Cream 6pm Country Style Tanglefoot Ln Bettendorf. Aug. 18-24 Beartooth Highway Drive Out. Aug. 29th Galesburg Club Fundraiser drive out meet 9 am Scooters/BP station Deere Dr. Milan IL. Leave 9:30 am. John asked for $200 donation to take, motion by Patti Bellmyer, seconded by Tom Hampton. Motion carried. Aug. 30th Drive out to Picnic in the Park meet 9:30 am McDonalds LeClaire IA. Leave 10 am. Picnic at noon West Lake Park, Lakeview shelter, Gate 1 14910 110th Ave. Bring your own beverage. RSVP by the 24th to Jeff/Gail Olson 309-525-5665. New calendar feature on the website. Michelle Ingersoll announced Waterfalls and Wineries drive out May 15,16 and 17, 2027.
Speed: Jeff Bellmyer – Low speed had 14 drivers both days. Mrs. Lingenfelter attended and liked the event, course and location. Next year maybe instead of Low Speed, 2 Rallies? Things to think about and consider.
Communications: Jeff Olson – Reminder emails are sent at least 1 per week. If you are not getting these, contact Jeff and he can help you with this or go to the Club website and under the Members tab there is a link for MailChimp, enter your name and email to sign up to receive emails. Jeff Thanked all the members who showed up at the Bishop Hill Car show, they had 180 cars this year and Patric was the first one to show up. Picnic drive out, Rappels are leading leaving LeClair at 10. Picnic cost $15 per person. RSVP to Jeff/Gail Olson by the 24th, noon lunch at Lakeview shelter, Gate 1.
Charity: Patti Bellmyer- 50/50 winners were Cindy Jacobson and Robbie Bentley. Triple berry pie won by Kristin Early, Banana cream pie went to Jeff Bellmyer, Corvette puzzle winner Patti Bellmyer, Corvette cooler winner Mike Price and Rt 66 puzzle winner Roger Miller.

Car Shows: Jeff Bellmyer – Car Shows are on the Mid-West Corvettes Calendar on the. There are also links to external sites that list car shows. If you know of any local car shows let Jeff know. Shows upcoming Silvis, VOTR, Hampton Days, Galva, Rock Island, Aledo, Eriksen’s and Maquoketa.

Old Business: Everything looks to be on track for the October Car show. Asking that all donated items for the raffle/silent auction be brought to the September Club meeting and still need a couple volunteers to help with the raffle/silent auction. Contact Terry Johnson or Del Traub. Does anyone know someone who has been helped by St. Jude that would be willing to speak at the car show? Contact Terry or Del.
Blue Bars listed Denny Waddell as Charter Member in the Remembrances in the last issue.
New Business: Christmas/Awards banquet will be held Dec. 13th at Lavender Crest Colona IL. Social hour starts at noon, lunch at 1 pm. The cost will be $42 per person. There may be an ugly sweater contest and white elephant gift exchange. Committee is Donna, Cindy and Kristin so far. Contact one of them if you wish to help. $500 asked for to reserve the room, motion made by Patti Bellmyer and seconded by John Severs. Motion carried. Seed money $500 asked for towards awards and gifts motion made by Roger Miller and seconded by John Severs. Motion carried.
