President Quint Early called the meeting to order at 6:30PM. There were 43 members present and 0 guests. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. A moment of silence was observed for all Veterans, Fallen, Past and Current Military Personnel and First Responders..
Sign-up sheets for Christmas in July and Winona were passed. Reminder to please give any donations (birthday/anniversary/nametag
Secretary’s Report: Susan Severs – The minutes will only be posted to the website. Last month under Speed, showed Lake of the Ozarks April 27-29, should have been LOCC car show April 27 2024. Motion to accept the Minutes as submitted was made by Ross Scott and seconded by Del Traub. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report: Carl Burney – Absent. No Sheet was passed as the end of the month information was not available. The membership was informed there would be 2 statements then for the August meeting and asked if that was agreeable. All were in favor.
Governor’s Report: John Severs – No report
Membership: Kristin Early – If you have a lost or damaged, need a name change on your Club name tag, let Kristin know, she’ll get you a new one. If you have changes (car, plates, address, phone, etc.) let Kristin know so she can update the information. There are 137 members. Denny Waddell now has a 2017 Grand Sport convertible in Sterling Blue. Kristin asked that if anyone has drive out instructions for Winona MN to please share them with her.
Social: Donna Jochim – Absent. We welcome and encourage all members to take an active role to plan and lead 1 drive out. July 8 Sherrard drive out meet at Eriksen’s 325 1st Ave Milan IL 9:30 am, leave 10 am. Will go to Lavendar Crest after car show. July 13 Breakfast at The Diner (freight house) 421 W River Dr. Davenport IA 9 am. July 23 Christmas in July drive out meet at Cabo’s 1500 E LeClaire Rd. Eldridge IA. 9:30 am, leave 10 am. Those not wanting to do the drive can meet at Scott County Park Hickory Hills Shelter 18850 270th St. Eldridge IA. 12 noon. Hamburgers/Hot Dogs/dessert provided. Bring camp chair, food item to share, your beverage of choice. White elephant gift exchange and games if you want to participate. July 26 Ice Cream at Cold Stone 4706 Utica Ridge Rd. Suite #2 6:30 pm. August 1 Club Business Meeting at Eriksen’s Milan IL. 6:30 pm. August 5 Open Drive meet former Ascentra 949 Mississippi View Ct. LeClaire IA. 9:30am, leave 10 am. August 5-6 Volo drive out meet former Ascentra 949 Mississippi View Ct. LeClaire IA. 9:30 am, leave 10 am. August 13 Low Speed event Brady Street Stadium 7am. August 19 Veterans Car Club car show at Eriksen’s 10 am. August 26 Vettes on the River LeClaire IA. August 27 open drive out meet former Ascentra 949 Mississippi View Ct. LeClaire IA. 9:30am, leave 10 am.
Speed: Sean McKay – Sean is looking for volunteers for the Low-Speed event August 13th. If you’d like to help, contact him. It’s a fun event that 3 of our members did last year. You do not have to drive your Corvette for this and it is open to anyone.
Communications: Michelle Ingersoll – Absent. Reminder emails are sent at least 1 per week. If you are not getting these, contact Michelle and she can help you with this or go to the Club website and under the Members tab there is a link for MailChimp, enter your name and email and you are set up to receive emails.
Charity: Melissa Thorngren – 50/50 winners were Gary Huff (donated back) and Bill Morrissey IV. Alvarado’s asked for a donation to Megan Daniels a 14-year-old from DeWitt that has gone thru chemo and the family needs help with medical bills. Motion by John Severs, seconded by Carol Mathias. Motion carried. Melissa Thorngren suggested that a donation to Kings Harvest be made for building collapse victims. Motion by Jan Ebert and seconded by Barb Huff. Motion carried. Deanna Glossop passed a baggie out to members from her son and daughter-in-law with a letter, a glass cleaning towel and information on their realty business. Thanks Troy and Barb Muilenburg with exp Realty. Auction items: Corvette mug-winning bid Deanna Glossop, C-1 coffee cup-winning bid Doyle Roos and Corvette book-winning bid Gale Brown.

If you have suggestions or ideas for website improvements, please let Chuck know. F.Y.I. Members are able to update information in your user profile including information on your Corvette such as Model, Year, Color, and License Plate #.
Car Shows: Roger Miller – Absent. Car Shows are on the Calendar. There are also links to external sites that list car shows. If you know of any local car shows let Roger know.
Publicity: Open position
Parades: Jim Scranton – July 4 Bettendorf parade can have 3 cars, contact Jim if you want to participate. Next parade is Tug Fest.
Quartermaster: Rita Painter – Rita thinks next month she will have 25% off on what she has now. That way she can start bringing in some new items. If you have suggestions, let Rita know.
Historian: Waldo Arnholz – Nothing to report.
Sunshine: Cindy Kuehner – Absent. Cindy had knee surgery and according to Terry Johnson she is doing well. 2 cards were sent. Birthdays and Anniversaries were noted. If you have knowledge of Club members, such as get-wells, deaths, births, etc. please contact Cindy.

Old Business: Randy Carlz talked about Summerfest going on in Milwaukee June 22-July 8. Starts at 11 am., places to park and ride to get to the gates, there is an admission fee. All genres of music staged in different areas and a great time.
New Business: Bob Hebestreit spoke about volunteers for Low Speed saying we can use as many as are willing to sign up. People will need breaks during the course of the day and 1 person should not have to spend the entire time without a break.
