President Patric Nichols called the meeting to order at 6:40PM. There were 49 members present and 5 guests. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. A moment of silence was observed for all Veterans, Fallen, Past and Current Military Personnel and First Responders..
Reminder to set phones to silent, wear nametags to all Club functions and donate for Birthdays/Anniversaries/No Name Tag at the beginning of the meeting if wishing to do so.
Sign up sheets passed around. Patrick presented a business packet he put together of last year’s car show.
Open Committee positions are Publicity, Parades, and Photos.
Secretary’s Report: Jan Ebert – The minutes will only be posted to the website. Motion to accept the Minutes as submitted was made by Marie Foster and seconded by Carol Mathias. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report: Carl Burney – Passed a current Club’s balance sheet around for members to see.
Main account: Beginning balance $5,226.73. Credits: member registrations $180, car show sponsors $180, monthly dividend $.22. Debits: Isle of Capri reservation $350, NCCC $295; ending balance $4,941.95
Charity Account: Beginning balance: $1,591.92. Credits: monthly raffles/auctions $249, toy auction $350. Debits: Kathy Earnest $50. Online balance: $2,140.92. Debits outstanding: Muscatine Humane Society $75. ending balance. $2,065.92

Governor’s Report: Roger Miller – Presented by Governor at this meeting:
” At the Feb. Governor’s meeting, a proposed Standing Rule was brought to the floor. If passed it would require a surcharge or head tax of twenty-five cents per entrant, per event and workers paid to NCCC for the purpose of financing the year end competition awards. This Standing Rule was voted down by the Governors.
2026 Convention is in Syracuse, NY. Only a limited time to register if you are interested in going. 2027 Convention will be in Bowling Green and 2028 Convention will be in Waco, TX.
Each person must sign a waiver. Spouses/SO can not sign for you. Please sign legibly so that we can read who has signed.
The NCCC TECH INSPECTION form used for Low Speed Events has been changed. Please toss out any of the outdated forms.
Updated information for Low Speed: Closed Construction Shoes – Driver and Passenger Numbers – Both sides of car, contrasting colors, must be at least 8” min.
I will be asking for a Certificate of Insurance for our Low Speed coming up on July 11 & 12 at the Isle Casino.
Anyone planning on driving our Low Speed, please see me for helmet rules as they can be a bit complicated. Helmets must be SNELL Foundation certified and expire after exceed 10 years of age. A SNELL foundation rating of “K” (karting) is not allowed. A DOT approval is not sufficient without the SNELL certification.
Do we arrange for a dinner for Low Speed participants and workers on either Friday night after setting up the course or Saturday night after the Low Speed is done for the day?
CHAPTER 5. RALLYE Rule Change 2026-R13: May 1, 2026 In Chapter 5: RALLYE Section 5.3.1. RALLYE WORKERS AND OFFICIALS EVENT CHAIRPERSON AND CO-CHAIRPERSON: Delete: “They are NOT permitted to participate as entrants.” Add: Must declare at the beginning of the event(s) if taking worker points or entrant points. Allowed to participate in Poker, Game of Chance type of Rallies, but not allowed in Gimmick Rallies where there would be prior knowledge of route and answers.”
Membership: Cindy Kuehner – If you have a lost or damaged, need a name change on your Club name tag, let Cindy know, she’ll get you a new one. If you have changes (car, plates, address, phone, etc.) let Cindy know so she can update the information. And don’t forget – members can update their information themselves including any updates to your Corvette model, year, color, and license plate.

Social: Kristyn Early – We welcome and encourage all members to take an active role to plan and lead 1 drive out.
Kristyn wasn’t present, but sign-up sheets were passed around.
August 30th, Club picnic at West Lake, Lakeview Shelter, Gate 1. Dan Reddy will cater. You can bring a side dish if you wish. $15 per person; a RSVP is need as Dan needs a head count.
Speed: Jeff Bellmyer – volunteers are needed for the Low Speed event on 7/11 for set up; this is at the Isle of Capri in Bettendorf on July 12.
Communications: Jeff Olson – Reminder emails are sent at least 1 per week beforehand. If you are not getting these, contact Jeff and he can help you with this or go to the Club website and under the Members tab there is a link for MailChimp, enter your name and email to sign up to receive emails.
Documents on how to get started with Facebook and MWC’s website were handed out to new members.
Charity: Patti Bellmyer- Nothing was received that needed to be read. Raffle of 50/25/25: $29 won by Patric Nichols and $29 was won by Bill Morrissey. The Dutch apple pie was won by Cindy Kuehner — what a way to celebrate retirement!

Car Shows: Jeff Bellmyer – Car Shows are on the Mid-West Corvettes Calendar on the. There are also links to external sites that list car shows. If you know of any local car shows let Jeff know.
Peoria car show: MWC had seven members with Corvettes at this show. Five cars took first place and won their classes: Craig Jenkins with C3, Roger Miller with C5, Del Traub with C6, Patric Nichols with C7, and Jeff Bellmyer with C8.
The list of car shows is quite extensive.

Old Business: 2026 Car Show: Del Traub and Terry Johnson: talked about the sizing of the unisex tee shirts for our club’s car show; discussion about an auction at the show. Sponsors are all set up; will start getting help in July. Last year we made $1,900 and the hope is to double that this year. The donation pot will go to St. Jude. A food vendor is set up for breakfast and lunch. There is a club class for MWC members to enter. Patric Nichols sponsored our club for the trophies. Brochures are at the table to hand out. It has been seen on Facebook. 3D Sound will announce the car show.
Patric Nichols talked about last month’s auction and apple pie. $350 was raised with the toy car auction; he would like to round it up to $400 to then be split between two Vietnam Veterans organizations, Chapter 669 and Chapter 299. Motion by Patric to raise the toy car auction’s $350 by $50 to $400 so it can be evenly split between these two chapters. Donna Jochim and second by Carol Mathias, passed.
New Business: Salesman told Patric there is a silver 1978 Corvette with 30,000 miles on it; it was originally owned by Al Fiscus; traded in and got $22,900 for it; 32,000 miles.
