President Quint Early called the meeting to order at 6:30PM. There were 47 members present and 0 guests. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. A moment of silence was observed for all Veterans, Fallen, Past and Current Military Personnel and First Responders..

Sign-up sheet for Christmas/Awards Banquet was sent around to form a committee. Reminder to donate your $ for Birthdays, Anniversaries, No Name Tags, etc. at the beginning of the meeting if you are doing so.

Secretary’s Report: Susan Severs – Robbie Bentley asked Sue to give her (Robbie’s) Thank You to the club for the Get-Well card and wishes from the members. It meant a great deal to her. The minutes will only be posted to the website. Motion to accept the Minutes as submitted was made by Jeff Olson and seconded by Robbie Bentley. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report: Carl Burney – Passed a current Club’s balance sheet around for members to see. Credits were: Low Speed, Membership Renewal, NCCC, VOLO Trip and Dividend. Debits were: Gift/Flowers, VOLO Dinner and Refund, Office Supplies, Low Speed Expenses and Award Dinner Room Reservation. Charity: Credits were: Birthday/Anniversary/No Name Tag and Auction. Debits were: 2 Donations. Low Speed Event: Entry Fees, Fun Runs: Rental Fee (last year), Timming Service, Port-A-Pottie, Food and Water. Motion to accept Treasurer’s report made by Jayne Kamp and seconded by Bill Morrissey III. Motion carried.

Governor’s Report: John Severs – Asked the membership about moving the date of the Low-Speed Event so as not to conflict with a Wisconsin car show. Consensus was to leave it on the August 18, 2024 date.

Membership: Kristin Early – If you have a lost or damaged, need a name change on your Club name tag, let Kristin know, she’ll get you a new one. If you have changes (car, plates, address, phone, etc.) let Kristin know so she can update the information. It’s Membership renewal time and Kristin read off a list of members she hadn’t heard from. Several had their dues in hand to pay. There are 138 Members. Bob Bateman’s wife Jan has joined. Rick Sherman told members that he and Anne are not renewing as they will be camping and traveling more in the future and have sold their Corvette.

Social: Donna Jochim – We welcome and encourage all members to take an active role to plan and lead 1 drive out. Only 5 scheduled drive outs are left. Dec. 10 Annual Banquet/Christmas Party Riverfront Grille 4619 34th St. Rock Island IL. 1-5 PM. April 27-29, 2024, Waterfalls and Wineries trip Decorah IA. Country Inn & Suites 563-387-9011 for reservation, block is under Mid-West Corvette Club. April 27-29, 2024, Corvettes in Paradise trip to Lake of the Ozarks MO. Contact Sean McKay for information if interested in going. Volo trip was a good time, Amana drive out well attended, VOTR had 272 cars. Donna will not be running for this position next year.

Speed: Sean McKay – Low Speed Event had 20 entries. Thanked everyone who had a part in helping with the event and Quint for keeping the rain away. Volunteer hours ended up being 216. Rita asked about making it easier to follow the course – less cones. Sean will not be running for the position for next year.

Communications: Michelle Ingersoll – Reminder emails are sent at least 1 per week. If you are not getting these, contact Michelle and she can help you with this or go to the Club website and under the Members tab there is a link for MailChimp, enter your name and email and you are set up to receive emails.

Charity: Melissa Thorngren – absent so Donna did the honors. 50/50 winners were Jeff Bellmyer and Rita Painter (both donated back). Berry Pie donated by Jeff Olson winning bid was Rita Painter. Reminder that if you bring in an auction item you get free raffle tickets. Time to get in your nominations for Christmas Charity donations, contact Donna Jochim with information. Three requests were made. Donna told members Deanna Glossop asked for a donation for friends from the Hawaii fires, motion by Carol Mathias and seconded by Tom Marckese. Motion carried. Donna asked for a donation to Mr. Thanksgiving (Bob Vogelbaugh) who prepares a Thanksgiving meal for anyone in need, motion by Kristin Early and seconded by Sharon Morrissey. Morion carried. Kathy and Donna asked for a donation to a friend who has cancer. Motion by Robbie Bentley and seconded by Kristin Early. Motion carried. Melissa will not be running for this position for next year. Donna will run for this position.

If you have suggestions or ideas for website improvements, please let Chuck know. F.Y.I. Members are able to update information in your user profile including information on your Corvette such as Model, Year, Color, and License Plate #. Chuck has agreed to maintain the website again for next year unless someone would rather take it over.

Car Shows: Roger Miller – Car Shows are on the Calendar. There are also links to external sites that list car shows. If you know of any local car shows let Roger know. Geneseo IL Sept. 9. Duck Creek Bettendorf IA. Sept 23 Oct 14 Green Chevrolet. Roger is not going to continue as Chairperson for Car Shows next year.

Parades: Jim Scranton – absent, no report

Quartermaster: Rita Painter – Nothing new. Will sell down inventory before any more incoming. Rita has decided not to be Quartermaster for next year.

Historian: Waldo Arnholz – absent, nothing to report.

Sunshine: Cindy Kuehner – 4 cards were sent last month. Birthdays and Anniversaries were noted. If you have knowledge of Club members, such as get-wells, deaths, births, etc. please contact Cindy. Cindy has agreed to remain in the Sunshine position.

Old Business: None

New Business: Open positions will be Social and Speed on the Board of Directors so far and Chair positions open are Car Show and Quartermaster so far. Nominations will be for the Board of Directors at the October meeting; anyone can be nominated for any position, with the voting being held at the November meeting. A Special pie was given from Jeff Olson to Gale Brown as some lady in the club asked Jeff to make this. Gale talked about the Veterans Car Club show and a car club from Geneseo (Maple City) asked to maybe combine a drive. Discussion on the rubber cones we use for Low Speed was had, Roger will check into the cost for new. Discussion on maybe doing a Cordova race day. Tom Marckese brought up an unattended Veteran funeral at the Arsenal if anyone wanted to attend. If for some reason your seat memory in your Corvette doesn’t work Tom said you can put a slow charge on it for a day or two and it should reset.
