Mid-West Corvettes, Inc. January 5, 2016

President Randy Huber called the meeting to order at 7:00.

Randy Huber thanked Gary Kamp for his past two years of service as president and welcomed the new 2016 board members.

Secretary’s Report: Bill Ingersoll noted in the December minutes for the banquet on January 23rd, Stoney Creek Inn is in Moline, IL not Rock Island as stated. The minutes will be amended. A motion was made by Walt Nenycz and seconded by Randy Carlz to accept the minutes with the amendment.

Treasurer’s Report: Rosie Meyer passed a detailed financial report to the membership present and reported on our current bank balance. NCCC dues check for 2016 has been cashed and we had credits from club stores and membership.

Governor’s Report: Mark Hermann sent a sign- up sheet around the room to receive Blue Bars magazine electronically. You may opt to continue to receive the hard copy in the mail if you prefer. For the electronic version, you will receive an email link and you can download a pdf. Mark reported John Earnest is to update the officer information on the website. Mark spoke about the NCCC and what it does with its cash and that they are covering non-sanctioned events such as VOTR, with less and less sanctioned events being held. Mark will attend the November Governors meeting this year. NCCC is comprised of 251 nationwide clubs with 19,000 members with 2,300 Mid-West region members.

Membership: Mark Hermann is working on updating the membership list and working on an excel spreadsheet/word doc merge with the help of Jayne Kamp. He sent a list around the room to check your information. Please update Mark with any changes or updates. Michelle Ingersoll asked he put a title and a date as a header on the list.

We had one visitor, Bob Nelson, who works with Jeff Lambrecht. He owns a 2005 Z51. Bob was welcomed and invited to come up front after the meeting to meet the board.
Mark is working on updating some documents of the 911 emergency procedures and for drive outs.

Social: Al Fiscus reported on the upcoming social events:

January 23rd is the year-end banquet at Stoney Creek Inn in Moline, IL. Cocktails will be at 5:30 and dinner is at 6:30. It is $25.00 per person. You can still sign up to attend, contact Donna Jochim. Bring your old 50/50 tickets with your name written on the back. One ticket will be drawn to win $50.00. Raffle and door prize items are still being accepted.

February 21st Sunday Afternoon Bowl & Eat Social is scheduled at Quad Cities Entertainment in Moline, IL.

March 12th A Charity Social is scheduled at the Issac Walton League in Eldridge. More details to follow.

Al mentioned Bloomington Gold and the Indianapolis Indy races at Elkhhardt Lake are the same weekend and rooms will go fast so if considering these events you may want to get your rooms arranged.

The Spring Drive is May 13-15th sign up and hotel information for both nights are on our facebook page. Mark Hermann mentioned we will most likely get a bus again to the Saturday evening dinner as it worked out well last time.

Speed: Marlene Negus reported the Spring Ralley is Sunday April 10th. Her co-chairs are Bill & Michelle Ingersoll and John & Sue Severs. Marlene sent a volunteer sign- up sheet around the room. She needs volunteers for tech, scoring and check points along the way. The Ralley is open to anyone so tell your friends and neighbors and help promote the Spring Ralley. Charity: Sharon Langel reported on the charity account balance. She held 50/50 drawings won by Frank Busch and Al Fiscus. She still had dining books out and more to check out if you would like to sell some. The books are $35.00 each and have lots of local coupons.

Car Show: Randy Huber thanked Randy Carlz for his years as Car Show Chairman and introduced Mike Alvarado as the new Car Show Chairman.
Mike mentioned the Rod and Custom Show at the QCCA Expo Center is January 22-24th.
If you have car show information please send the information to Mike Alvarado, he will keep a spread sheet online.

Parade: No report.

Quartermaster: Kathy is working on new Spring things with Scott. Let Kathy know if there is something you would like to see.

Sunshine: Melissa Thorngren recognized the January birthdays and anniversaries. She sent a recovery card to Donna Jochim after her surgery and a sympathy card to Randy Huber for the passing of his brother. Melissa also noted Mark Hermann has officially retired and she congratulated Ross Scott and Joanie Kiel on their engagement.

Melissa told a “January Funny” With the new year and resolutions and cross fit being all the rage…cross fit = cross your fingers and pray you fit in your jeans.

Old Business: Randy Huber mentioned VOTR is on the calendar for August 27th. We are already receiving emails and messages from clubs and participants eager to attend.

Bill Ingersoll stated Clear Lake Show is August 5-7. Reservations can be made at the Country Inn and Suites in Mason City, IA. Phone # is 641-423-1770. Mention the MWCC Block. Bill has contacted the Surf Ballroom for on the dance floor seating.

New Business: Mary Snyder reported this is hers and Al Durbin’s last meeting, they are moving to Florida.

Mark Hermann mentioned there are currently 5 or 6 couples going on the Black Hills, SD trip in July leaving on the 13th. They would stay in Souix Falls the first night and then go on to Spear Fish. The hotel rooms fill fast so if you want to go, its best to make reservations now.
Chad Siedschlaw has been on this trip many times, if you have questions contact Chad.

Mark Hermann mentioned if you need a new name tag to let him know and he will get one made for you. He is hoping to have an updated membership list in pdf format out by the end of January.

A motion was made to adjourn the meeting by John Severs and seconded by Marlene Negus. Motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
