The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. A moment of silence was observed for all Veterans, Fallen, Past and Current Military Personnel and First Responders.

Opening Remarks

Reminder to set phones to silent, wear nametags to all Club functions and donate for Birthdays/Anniversaries/No Name Tag at the beginning of the meeting if wishing to do so.

Secretary’s Report

Jan Ebert – The minutes will only be posted to the website. Motion to approve minutes by Kristin Early, second by Marie Foster, approved.

Treasurer’s Report

Carl Burney – Report was passed around. Main Account has a beginning balance of $4,590.25; receipts of $442 for anniversary dinner reservations, spring rally brought in $240, and membership dues brought in $60.00 Debits for NCCC dues equaled $370.00. Ending balance on 3/31/25 is $4,962.25. In the Charity Account, the beginning balance is $1,266.52. Credits are $90 from the 50/50, auction and raffles. Shuppy donations were $550. Debits cleared Cheryl Shuppy $750. Debit outstanding = $1,156.32. St. Jude’s Raffle of $50 is still outstanding. Charity checkbook balance as of 3/31/25 is $1,106.52. Motion by Carol Mathias, second by Bobby Bentley to approve; passed.

Governor’s Report

Roger Miller – Roger attended the Govenors’ meeting in St. Louis; the MWC Board met on March 17 to go over constitution, bylaws, and standard operating procedures. The MWC Board also answered the survey by the Midwest region of NCCC. Report given. Some changes will be made under the constitution, bylaws, and SOP will be taken to the membership at a later date when typed. Several questions of survey were read to members at this meeting. Discussion about member cards; a new member would get a printed card. Discuss regarding going in the hole $$100,000 a year. Insurance could be shopped around each year. Waivers are necessary to help with insurance things.

Membership

Cindy Kuehner – If you have a change in your email address, please let Cindy know. She needs to be sure all are up to date. Any new member who doesn’t have their name tags, please see Cindy to have it printed. Guest George Gray, 2019 Grand Sport; he knows Patric. Another guest was Pat Deschinscel who has his 6th Corvette, a 2024 Z06, Torch Red, previously a member back in the 80’s.

Social

Donna Jochim – We welcome and encourage all members to take an active role to plan and lead 1 drive out. Sean updated on 2025 mileage contest; 11 people signed up and two members have two cars signed up. If you’re still interested, please contact Sean McKay. April 9 Dinner Club at Miss Mamie’s, hosted by Donna and Carl. When we have Breakfast Club and Dinner Club outings, please RSVP to the host as the restaurant needs a head count. Picnic in the Park for this summer the $85 deposit for a shelter at West Lake, Motion passed for reservation. Drive out season is here. Waivers need to be filled out. The drive out rules were read by Carl. Rules are posed on the MWC website. Breakfast Club is April 22 at 9 a.m. at Cracker Barrel, Davenport, Severs hosting. April 12 John and Sue Devers will head a drive out. Palmyra Pub in Dixon. Lake of the Ozark drive out April 24-26 Margaritaville Resort. Waterfalls and Wineries drive out May 17-19; Severs and Ingersolls hosting. Black Hills Corvette Club drive out update done by Sean McKay. NCCC regional meeting is August 17-22 in Wisconsin Dells; registration is open. Vettes vs. Dragons September 11-14.

Speed

Jeff Bellmyer – Rallye; Sunday April 6. Volunteers needed. Rules for awards: one ward for 1-10 cars and two awards for 11-20 cars in attendance. So far eight cars have signed up. Sprint car races in Knoxville June 7 or June 14 are when we can be there. Suites same as last year. Raffle is still open.

Communications

Jeff Olson – Jeff Olson has a new computer; check that you’re receiving emails; new software is tricky. Emails go out about one week before the membership meeting. It’s named “Things to Remember.”

Charity

Patti Bellmyer- Sara DeFrang reached out re Doulos Global and going to Zimbabwe ministry outreach. $2,600 is the cost of the trip; all needs to be fund-raised. Motion by Bill Ingersoll, second by Kristin Early to donate $200 to this cause; passed. Pie raffle raised $120, won by Rita Painter. Cookies winner Deb McKay. 50/25/25 raffle; winners donated money back.

Rita Painter – 65th anniversary shirts are here to be picked up. Gale and Rita Painter got in more window clings. Gale is in charge of that part.

Historian

Waldo Arnholz – “In the interest of keeping the meeting short, I have nothing to report.” Not a lot going on except the upcoming 65th anniversary of the club.

Sunshine

Gail Olson – report by Jeff: Sunshine cards sent in March: Quint and Kristin Early, get well card for illnesses; Cheryl Shuppy: thinking of you as she begins cancer treatment, mailed the charity check from MWCC; Gale Brown for rest and recovery for after shoulder surgery. Updates: 1) Former member Mary Roos has multiple complications from her brain surgery. She is having issues with spinal fluid buildup. In May they will be placing a shunt, valve, and tubing to drain it. She will have this for the rest of her life. 2) Judy Hebestreit. She says she is still in shock as everything happened so fast. Bob was having complications in swallowing in December. He underwent some tests and had complications thereafter. On Jan 2nd, they received a phone call saying he had pancreatic cancer. He continued to have complications and ended up at Iowa City. He came home on Feb. 1st. A week later, he was in home hospice, and he died on Feb. 15. They are planning a celebration of life in May, but the date has not been set yet. She will let us know. Judy’s son is here from Tennessee helping Judy get the house ready to sell. Bob’s Corvette is for sale. 2012 GS Centennial edition black Corvette; only 22,500 miles on it.

65th anniversary photo shoot/drive out/dinner event: May 3rd, 1:00, group photo will be at North Park Mall, Dillard’s north lot with drive out which ends at Eriksen Chevrolet. Dinner is catered at 5 p.m. by Dan Rettig. Photo will be by Kurtis DeFrang with a drone.

Anniversary car show is set for October 4. Each table has some flyers; please take some and distribute. We need people to go and ask for donations for this show, monetary donations and raffle donations. Profits go to St. Jude; proceeds are donated May 2026.

New Business

Fun Facts: Donna’s brain child (per Carl!): 1960: average income $5199 per year, bread was 20 cents, gas was 26 cents.

Last year’s Club president Quint Early did a great job; he gets an “appreciation pie” made by Jeff Olson.
