President Patric Nichols called the meeting to order at 6:36PM. There were 39 members present and 3 guests. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. A moment of silence was observed for all Veterans, Fallen, Past and Current Military Personnel and First Responders..
Reminder to set phones to silent, wear nametags to all Club functions and donate for Birthdays/Anniversaries/No Name Tag at the beginning of the meeting if wishing to do so. Today is Cindy Kuehner’s Birthday, so Terry brought some snacks for members to enjoy! Reminder that the Club has some Chair position vacancies, if interested contact Patric. Sign-up sheets passed for Breakfast Club, Picnic in the Park, Car Show and end of year Award Banquet.
Secretary’s Report: Jan Ebert – Jan was absent, so Sue Severs filled in. The minutes will only be posted to the website. Motion to accept the Minutes as submitted was made by Mike Alvarado and seconded by Ross Scott. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report: Carl Burney – Passed a current Club’s balance sheet around for members to see. Income was: Low Speed Registrations, Membership Fees. and Interest earned. Expense was: Timing for Low Speed, Patti Bellmyer-low speed expense and NCCC. Charity: Income was: Monthly 50/50 and auctions. Expense was: Hebestreit Memorial. Motion to split Low Speed proceeds with the Illinois Club was made by Ross Scott and seconded by Quint Early. Motion carried. Motion to accept Treasurer’s report made by Deb Alvarado and seconded by Robbie Bentley. Motion carried.
Governor’s Report: Roger Miller – Our 65th Anniversary photo is on the back cover of the latest issue of Blue Bars. If you didn’t get a copy and want one let Roger know, he’ll try to make that happen. Thanked all the volunteers for their help with the Low-Speed event. Roger discussed the September NCCC meeting and wanted member feedback on NCCC increasing dues (haven’t increased in 20 years), Jim, John and Ross all spoke on this matter and the members present agreed that an increase was okay. The increase will not take place this year. September is the month that NCC does nominations for their Board of Directors, if you have suggestions let Roger know so he can put in the nomination. Reminder that Club Dues are to be made by the September meeting by check.
Membership: Cindy Kuehner – If you have a lost or damaged, need a name change on your Club name tag, let Cindy know, she’ll get you a new one. If you have changes (car, plates, address, phone, etc.) let Cindy know so she can update the information. And don’t forget – members can update their information themselves including any updates to your Corvette model, year, color, and license plate. Reminder that Membership dues, by check, are due by the September meeting. The e-mail that was sent out netted a few changes for the membership list. If you have any changes, contact Cindy as she would like to have this complete by the end of August. Visitors were, Dave Stockham, who became a new member and owns a ’63 Split Window, Brian who owns a 2019 Grand Sport in Grey and Cheryl (Cindy Kuehner’s sister, who the Club donated to for her cancer journey) who wanted to say Thank you in person for the donation and to ask that we continue to keep her in prayer. New car, Bruce and Shiela Petty bought a 1960 Turquoise Blue Corvette.
Social: Donna Jochim – Donna was absent so Carl Burney filled in. We welcome and encourage all members to take an active role to plan and lead 1 drive out. Aug. 9 Garage tour 8 am starts at Nichols 13934 101st Ave. Davenport IA. Aug. 15 Ice Cream 6:30 pm at Country Style 3591 Tanglefoot Ln. Bettendorf IA. Aug. 17th Drive out to Off Shore Resort meets former Ascentra Credit Union 949 Mississippi View Ct. LeClaire 9:30 am, leaves 10 am. Also, Galesburg Elks Corvette Car Show Noon, lunch is free will donation. 1640 North Henderson St. Galesburg, IL. Aug. 19 Vettes Verses Dragon meeting 6 pm, Genisio’s restaurant in Woodhull IL. Aug. 21 Breakfast 9 am, Creative Signature Cuisine 213 12 Ave. East Moline IL. Aug. 23 Vettes on the River LeClaire IA. Sept, 7 Picnic in the Park Noon at West Lake Park Rolling Hills Shelter, Gate 1 14910 110th Ave Davenport IA. Catered by Dan Reddig, Jeff Olson bringing dessert. Bring your beverage, cost is $10 per person. Jeff needs to know if you will be attending by the 29th of August and you can pay him at the Sept. meeting. No word on a drive out for this yet. Sept. 10-14 Vettes Verses the Dragon trip.
Speed: Jeff Bellmyer – Thanked the helpers for the Low-Speed event. Illinois Club would like to do again next year same location. Isle was good with how things went on their end and had no complaints. Nothing now until next year.
Communications: Jeff Olson – Reminder emails are sent at least 1 per week. If you are not getting these, contact Jeff and he can help you with this or go to the Club website and under the Members tab there is a link for MailChimp, enter your name and email to sign up to receive emails. Picnic in the Park $10 per person, bring your own beverage, pies for dessert at Rolling Hills Shelter West Lake Park, Noon for meal. Jeff needs to know if you are planning to go for a food count by Aug. 29th, you can pay him at the Sept. meeting. Website was down for a few days; between Jess and our former webmaster Chuck they got things straightened out and back up and running. Motion for a gift card to be sent to Chuck made by Melissa Thorngren and seconded by Sherri Brown. Motion carried. Thanked all the members that showed up to the Bishop Hill Car show.
Charity: Patti Bellmyer- 50/50 winners were Carl Burney and Bill Morrissey IV. Dutch apple pie went to Debi McKay and the Triple berry pie went to Jeff Bellmyer.

Car Shows: Jeff Bellmyer – Car Shows are on the Mid-West Corvettes Calendar on the website. There are also links to external sites that list car shows. If you know of any local car shows let Jeff know. Lots going on but a couple to note are, Garage tour Aug. 9 starts at Nichols garage 8 am. Aug. 9 Bend Xpo car show East Moline IL. Aug. 23 Vettes on the River LeClaire IA.

Quartermaster: Rita Painter – Rita had new shirts in, but they all got bought! Still has a shirt that was ordered for the 65th Anniversary. Rita’s C8 is for sale.
2023, just under 15,000 miles, comes with extra set of black wheels (tires have 2,000 miles on them), 2 car covers 1- winter cover and 1-summer cover.
Historian: Waldo Arnholz – Nothing to report.
Sunshine: Gail Olson – Birthdays and Anniversaries were noted. No cards were sent out this past month. 1 has been sent for this month so far.

Old Business: A Member asked about the Hello Quad Cities video Gail took and was answered. An Award for Competition was given out to the Alvarado’s from 2024 Banquet. Car Show Oct. 4th needs volunteers, Photo, Registration, need help with getting confirmation from a food vendor for the day-Melissa and Jeff will work on that, getting Bally’s to confirm a block of rooms-Melissa will work on that.
New Business: Fun Facts were read by Cindy Kuehner this month. Ross Scott wanted to thank the Club members for the support after his daughter’s death.
