Vice President Jeff Olson called the meeting to order at 6:32PM. There were 42 members present and 2 guests. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. A moment of silence was observed for all veterans, fallen, past and current military personnel and first responders..

Reminder to set phones to silent, wear nametags to all Club functions and donate for birthdays/anniversaries/no name tag at the beginning of the meeting if wishing to do so. President Patric Nichols had his 4th retina repair surgery; is doing well. A gift from Patric for the Club’s 65th anniversary is a token/poker chip commemorating the anniversary. If you haven’t already gotten one, be sure to pick one up from the front table.

Secretary’s Report: Jan Ebert – The minutes will only be posted to the website. Motion to accept the Minutes as submitted was made by Sue Severs and seconded by Michelle Ingersoll. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report: Carl Burney – Passed a current Club’s balance sheet around for members to see. Corrected balance for March is $4,962.46 after receipt of $0.21 dividend.

Main Account: Income: Credits: 65th anniversary dinner $530, Spring Rallye $485, mileage contest $240, car show $415, Governor’s donation $310.44, April dividend $0.21, with -$200 of cash withheld for Rallye prizes. Governor’s Report: Note from Jeff Olson: Roger attended the Governor’s meeting and then donates the expenses/money back to our Club so we don’t have that expense taken out. Thank you.

Roger Miller: attended the regional meeting in St. Louis on May 3; explained to other attendees he was missing MWC 65th anniversary; many were surprised at the duration of MWC as their clubs are much newer. Trivia re clubs: Midwest Region is still the largest with 2068 members in 27 clubs; a new club just started in our region called “Game Over,” near Chicago; East Region is close behind with 2023 members and 24 clubs; West Coast Region has 1855 members in 29 clubs. Joan Thomas, head of the convention, gave a lengthy presentation about the convention coming up in August being held in Wisconsin. There are 26 proposed rule changes to the Competition Manual which were read and will be voted on at Sept. meeting. NCCC dues increase has been proposed and will be voted on in September. It’s been 20+ years since an increase. Primary is currently $35 for new member and $25 to renew. Proposed is $50 for new member and $40 to renew. Spouse is currently $10 for new member and $10 to renew. Proposed spouse is proposed to increased to $15 for new member and $15 to renew. Lifetime is currently $300 and is proposed to increase to $500. If considering a lifetime membership, $200 could be saved by doing it before September. Waivers are to be kept for five years. Car shows: I could ask for a non-sanctioned number for our car show and get word out there since it could then be listed on the NCCC calendar. The back cover of Blue Bars is available for summer issue as of May 3. Roger left a voicemail for Elaine Heretta to inquire on price and if still available. Are we interested? Discussion was had. Roger will look into this.

Membership: Cindy Kuehner – If you have a lost or damaged, need a name change on your Club name tag, let Cindy know, she’ll get you a new one. If you have changes (car, plates, address, phone, etc.) let Cindy know so she can update the information. And don’t forget – members can update their information themselves including any updates to your Corvette model, year, color, and license plate.

Social: Donna Jochim – We welcome and encourage all members to take an active role to plan and lead 1 drive out. Mileage contest report by Sean McKay, $20 to enter and so far 15 cars are in the contest. Dinner Club is for winter, Ice Cream Club is for summer. First one will be May 14 at Whitey’s in East Moline, 6:30 p.m. Breakfast Club is May 28, 9 a.mm., Tony’s Breakfast and Pizza. May 18 open drive out. May 17-19 Waterfalls and Wineries. June 7 Sprint Car Racing in Knoxville. Corvette owned by Bob Hebestreit is for sale; his celebration of life is June 20. July 16-20 Black Hills Corvette Classic, Sean McKay will lead. Park shelter has been reserved at West Lake for September 7 at noon; Dan Rettig pulled pork at $5/pound, usually get two sandwiches per pound, potluck for the rest of the food. Vettes vs. Dragons September 11-14. Fall drive out with Quint and Kristin Early, date not yet determined. Car Show at Erickson Chevrolet October 4, all Corvettes, Sean McKay in charge, C3 and C5 need sponsorship which were then gotten at the meeting: Ross Scott will sponsor C5 and Jeff Bellmyer will sponsor C3. Thank you! Jeff Bellmyer took first place with his C8 at the Ozark. Del Traub received Excellent for his car at the Ozark. Cars and Coffee in Galesburg June 14.

Speed: Jeff Bellmyer – “Low Speed.” A site has not yet been secured.

Communications: Jeff Olson – Reminder emails are sent at least 1 per week. If you are not getting these, contact Jeff and he can help you with this or go to the Club website and under the Members tab there is a link for MailChimp, enter your name and email to sign up to receive emails. “Things to Remember” email comes out a week before the meeting.

Charity: Patti Bellmyer- Thank you received from Cindy Kuehner’s sister Cheryl for donation of $200. Thank you from Sarah DeFrang for donation to Doulos Ministries. Raffle tickets $18 each won by Bill Morrissey Jr and John Severs, both donated it to the Club. Rhubarb custard pie won by Sherri Brown. Strawberry rhubarb pie with lattice top auctioned and won by Melissa Thorngren.

Historian: Waldo Arnholz – Nothing to report except that in nine days, the Club will be 65.

Sunshine: Gail Olson – Birthdays and Anniversaries were noted. Get well card to Betty Marckese for her broken foot, sympathy card to Barry Hoff on death of mom as well as memorial to New Kingdom Trail Riders, thinking of you card to Denny Waddell, wedding card to Paul Brown and (now) wife. Club anniversaries: Bob Bateman nine years, Donna Jochim 14 years. Debi McKay has a birthday this month.
