To our current and future MWC Members,
As I prepare to store STNGRRR away for the winter, I look back at another amazing driving season with Jane, our Corvette, and the many miles shared with our extended family, Mid-West Corvettes. While I wish the driving season was never-ending, I do know that soon the weather will turn, the temperature will drop, and we will be left to begin a new count-down to spring 2017.
With all of us supporting our club, we did have some great times and successes this year. Our club is financially healthy, our outings and events were well planned, and most important, everyone came home safe from all of our adventures.
I see a lot of new faces in our organization and it is good to see MWC growing. With new membership comes new ideas, more active members, and potentially new leaders. The one common theme I hear from all of our new members is “everyone is so friendly and helpful” which is the best compliment we could receive and we should take great pride in that. They are genuinely excited about being part of our group and their enthusiasm keeps our club well-balanced when combined with the experience and knowledge of our veteran members.
Without a doubt, the foundation of our club are our members that have been with MWC many years and they stand as a true testament to the strength and stability of a truly exceptional organization. By cultivating personal friendships within the club we are woven together like a fine quilt… each of us individuals, but together, we have created a strong personal bond. We have much experience to share, and many more miles to travel and countless new friendships to build.
As we head into the holiday season, we pray for our members and their family’s health and continued prosperity. Some of our friends have had a challenging 2016, and to that I know we have endless prayers and support… Just know that if you need us, we’ll be there. Some of our members have relatives who are no longer with us but remain in spirit and memories, and during this holiest of seasons, we take time to celebrate their lives and take comfort that their lives enriched others’ lives and ours.
Finally, I wish all of our members a Merry Christmas and a Happy & Safe New Year. 2017 promises us a fresh start and a chance to make it our best ever… And remember, spring is only a little over 4 months away!
